Thikkurissy Sukumaran Nair was an Indian poet, playwright, script writer, lyricist, orator, film director and actor, though he is best known as an actor in Malayalam cinema. He is the recipient of Padma Shri from the Government of India, which is one of the highest civilian honours in India. In a career that spanned about 47 years, he acted in over 700 films. He is considered to be the "first superstar of Malayalam cinema". In 1993, he was honoured with the J. C. Daniel Award, Kerala government's highest honour for contributions to Malayalam cinema.
Jose Prakash was an Indian actor and singer who worked in Malayalam cinema. He was a singer turned actor who had appeared in more than 300 films mostly in antagonist roles. He was awarded with the J. C. Daniel Award in 2011, a day before he died aged 86. In a career spanning for around 40 years, he is known for portraying some of the iconic villain characters in the Malayalam film industry. Later, he switched to character roles in the mid 90s.

The film met with critical acclaim and became a box office success. It won four Kerala State Film Awards. The film helped in popularising the shrine of Sabarimala further in Tamilnadu and other southern Indian states.
Oru Muthassi Katha is a 1988 Indian Malayalam-language drama film directed by Priyadarshan and written by Jagadeesh. The film stars Vineeth and Nirosha, supported by Thiagarajan with K. B. Ganesh Kumar, M. G. Soman, Innocent and Lizy playing other important roles. The film was failure at the box office.
M. Krishnan Nair was an Indian film director of Malayalam films. He directed over 100 films. He also directed 18 Tamil movie including four films starring M. G. Ramachandran and two Telugu movies, one each with superstars N. T. Rama Rao and Krishna Eminent filmmakers including Hariharan, K. Madhu, S. P. Muthuraman, Bharathiraja and Joshiy apprenticed under him as assistant directors.

Anweshichu Kandethiyilla is a 1967 Indian Malayalam-language film, directed by P. Bhaskaran and written by Parappurath. The film stars K. R. Vijaya, Sathyan and Madhu. Based on Parappurath's novel of the same name, it recounts the quest for happiness by a nurse with the best of intentions, but who is disillusioned. The film was made as a reply to the biblical homily, ‘seek and ye shall find’. Anweshichu Kandethiyilla won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Malayalam.
