Sarah-Jane Potts (born 30 August 1976) [2] is an English actress, best known for her roles as Saint (Sarah) in Sugar Rush , Ellie, Abs' on/off girlfriend in Casualty [3] and Jo Lipsett in Waterloo Road . Potts is the sister of actor Andrew-Lee Potts. [3] From 2011 to 2012, she appeared in Holby City as Senior Nurse Eddi McKee on AAU, playing a different character to the one she played in Casualty. Potts left Holby City in the second episode of Series 15; her departure was kept a secret by the production team and was not reported at all by the media, resulting in a shock exit for her character.
Early in her career she noted: "In the three years I have been acting I have spent most of the time looking dirty, scruffy, ill or tarty." [4]
In 2023, Potts attended East London LGBTQ+ Film Festival and virtually introduced Kinky Boots . [5]
Potts attended Bradford's Scala Kids stage school with her brother Andrew. [1] As a teenager she worked in a greasy spoon cafe in Bradford. [6] She left school during her A-levels to star in Meat. [6] From 1999 to 2001, she dated Erik Palladino. They met at a film festival in Sweden during the summer of 1999 and at the end of the year she moved to Los Angeles to live with him. [7] [8] She met her former husband, Tony Denman, when filming National Lampoon's Barely Legal and they were married in June 2002. [9] [10] She has a son, named Buster Alan Denman, born 2004. [3] She met her second husband, Joseph Millson, while working together on the medical drama Holby City and married him on 31 December 2013. [11]

Since 2006, Potts has written and directed short films through his production house, Keychain Productions. In 2008, he directed a documentary about the filming of Primeval called Through the Anomaly.

"Hanssen/Hemingway" first aired on 8 January 2013 on BBC One in the United Kingdom. It is one of the show's frequent standalone episodes, which features two stories; one on location and one set in Holby City Hospital. Young, who was also the consultant series producer at the time, confirmed in an August 2012 interview that there were plans to explore the fictional backstory of Henrik Hanssen, the hospital's CEO, who was introduced in 2010. Young confirmed that the show would also reveal more about registrar Luc Hemingway, whose background, like Hanssen, had yet to be explored. In the same interview, Young revealed that the producers had just come up with an idea for a new episode set abroad and they were in the early planning stages.
East London LGBTQ+ Film Festival is an independent film festival founded in 2023 by festival director Carrie Kendall in partnership with Kaleidoscope. The festival is designated to showing independent and studio cinema made for and by members of the LGBTQIA+ community, encouraging and inspiring the youth community in the local area, raising important funds and awareness for the charitable organisation Kaleidoscope. The festival takes place annually in Romford, United Kingdom and is hosted at Premiere Cinemas inside The Mercury Mall.
