Sarah Quin Eaglesfield (born 20 May 1979) is an English singer/songwriter in the alternative rock band Flightside and a conspiracy theorist.

Musical career

Eaglesfield first shared her music online for free in 1994 [1] [2] on the webserver at Brunel University, using webspace assigned to students who had left their courses to accommodate the large filesizes. The URL on Flightside's first EP linked directly to her username. She made a number of guest appearances on the UK ITV show cyber.café. [3] [4]

Eaglesfield contributed lyrics to Dave Stewart's track, Love Tower [5] , and co-wrote a song called Ex Facto Ring with comedian Matt Richardson during X-Factor UK, which was screened on ITV2 in the UK in September 2013. She also regularly collaborated with her mentor, Nikki Sudden, in the final years of his life. [6]

Eaglesfield has listed her early influences as These Immortal Souls, Swell Maps, The Damned, Robyn Hitchcock, Jellyfish, James, Suicide Blonde and The Wonderstuff. [7]

Digital platforms

In 2001, she co-founded MusicAndSex TV, a direct-to-fan music video member website with Duran Duran guitarist Warren Cuccurullo,[ citation needed ] and also assisted him with the Missing Persons Lost Tracks album. [8]

In 2007, she established RockAffairs as a digital platform where artists could share their music without any fees and receive a profit share from paid membership, with funding provided by Duran Duran's Andy Taylor. [9] [10] [11]

In November 2011, Eaglesfield received funding from the Chilean Government through their Start-Up Chile scheme to establish a record label to aid Chilean artists break into Europe [12] [13] , and Flightside had a short reunion, releasing two EPs. [14]

News analysis and political activism

Since 2013, Eaglesfield has occasionally appeared on television and radio as a news analyst. In 2013, she appeared on I Love Chile News, breaking down conspiracy theories surrounding the Boston Marathon Bombing [15] . In 2018, she provided commentary on the Russian Collusion for WION TV.

She has also been politically active, with a focus on protection of freedom of speech. Eaglesfield's tweets were used as evidence by the defence in the PJS v News Group Newspapers Supreme Court hearing regarding an anonymised privacy injunction [16] , and she is a founder of the "Yes, Less Censorship" movement on Twitter. [17]

In November 2020, Eaglesfield crowdsourced a project to Audit the Vote in the 2020 US Elections. [18] [19] . Sarah claims that Donald Trump's legal team and representatives of Sidney Powell approached her to submit an expert witness statements for their cases across multiple states, and she states that her aim is to Audit Every Vote in the 2020 Election by the end of December 2021. She has no formal background nor noted experience in data science or political analysis.

Duran Duran English new wave band

Duran Duran is an English new wave band formed in Birmingham in 1978. The group were a leading band in the MTV-driven Second British Invasion of the US in the 1980s. The group was formed by keyboardist Nick Rhodes and bassist John Taylor, with the later addition of drummer Roger Taylor, and after numerous personnel changes, guitarist Andy Taylor and lead singer Simon Le Bon. These five members featured the most commercially successful line-up.

John Taylor (bass guitarist)

Nigel John Taylor is an English musician, singer, songwriter, producer, and actor, who is best known as the bass guitarist for new romantic band Duran Duran, of which he was a founding member. Duran Duran was one of the most popular bands in the world during the 1980s due in part to their revolutionary music videos which played in heavy rotation in the early days of MTV. Taylor played with Duran Duran from its founding in 1978 until 1997, when he left to pursue a solo recording and film career. He recorded a dozen solo releases through his private record label B5 Records over the next four years, had a lead role in the movie Sugar Town, and made appearances in a half dozen other film projects. He rejoined Duran Duran for a reunion of the original five members of the group in 2001 and has remained with the group since. The current permanent members of Duran Duran are Simon Le Bon, Himself, Nick Rhodes and Roger Taylor.

Robert Palmer (singer) English musician (1949–2003)

Robert Allen Palmer was an English singer-songwriter, musician and record producer. He was known for his powerful, distinctive, gritty and soulful voice, sartorial elegance and for combining soul, jazz, rock, pop, reggae and blues.

Bernard Edwards was an American bass player, singer, songwriter and record producer, known primarily for his work in disco music with guitarist Nile Rodgers, with whom he co-founded Chic. In 2017, Edwards was selected as the 53rd greatest bassist of all time by Bass Player magazine.

The Power Station is an English–American 1980s/1990s rock and pop music supergroup band originally formed in New York City and London in 1984. It was made up of singer Robert Palmer, former Chic drummer Tony Thompson, and Duran Duran members John Taylor (bass) and Andy Taylor (guitar). Bernard Edwards, also of Chic, was involved on the studio side as recording producer and for a short time also functioned as The Power Station's manager. Edwards also replaced John Taylor on bass for the recording of the band's second album. The band was formed in New York City late in 1984 during a break in Duran Duran's schedule that became a lengthy hiatus. The Power Station was named after The Power Station recording studio, where their first album was conceived and recorded.

Missing Persons (band) Band

Missing Persons is an American rock band. The band was founded in 1980 in Los Angeles by guitarist Warren Cuccurullo, vocalist Dale Bozzio, and drummer Terry Bozzio. They later added bassist Patrick O'Hearn and keyboardist Chuck Wild. Dale's quirky voice and heavy makeup made the band a favorite on MTV in the early 1980s.

Andrew Arthur Taylor is an English musician, singer, songwriter and record producer, best known as a former member of both Duran Duran and the Power Station.

Bebe Buell American singer, former fashion model

Beverle Lorence "Bebe" Buell is an American singer and former fashion model. She was Playboy magazine's November 1974 Playmate of the Month. Buell moved to New York in 1972 after signing a modeling contract with Eileen Ford, and garnered notoriety after her publicized relationship with musician Todd Rundgren from 1972 until 1978, as well as her liaisons with several rock musicians over the following four decades. Orianthi Australian musician, singer and songwriter

Orianthi Penny Panagaris is an Australian musician, singer and songwriter who rehearsed in 2009 with Michael Jackson in preparation for his ill-fated This Is It concert series, and performed with Alice Cooper's touring band. Her 2009 debut single "According to You" peaked at No. 3 in Japan, No. 8 in Australia and No. 17 in the US; her second album, Believe, received a worldwide release in late 2009. The same year, Orianthi was named one of the 12 Greatest Female Electric Guitarists by Elle magazine. Flightside were a UK-based lo-fi post-grunge band formed in Uxbridge, England in 1992. The line up consisted of Sarah Eaglesfield (keys/vocals), Paul Cormack (guitar) and ex-Velveto drummer Mark Parton. Although Cormack and Eaglesfield had previously known each other in Birmingham, the three came together as a band whilst working on the 'flightside' at Heathrow Airport.

Joanne Shaw Taylor

Joanne Shaw Taylor is a British blues rock guitarist and singer who was discovered by Dave Stewart of the Eurythmics at the age of 16. The British music publication Blues Matters! called Taylor "the new face of the blues".
