Sarah Workneh is an arts administrator and currently serves as the co-director of Skowhegan School of Painting & Sculpture in Madison, Maine. She has lectured on her work as a residency director, including at Hauser & Wirth in partnership with BFAMFAPhD, [1] [ non-primary source needed ] the 2009 Alliance of Artist Communities conference, [2] [ non-primary source needed ] the International Studio & Curatorial Program, [3] [ non-primary source needed ] Wassaic Projects, [4] [ non-primary source needed ] and others. Workneh is involved in the Maine art community beyond her work at Skowhegan. She served as the co-curator of the 2018 Portland Museum of Art Biennial in Portland, Maine. [7] The exhibition was co-curated with Nat May, Theresa Secord, and Mark Bessire. [8] [9] She also juried the Maine Farmland Trust 2019 artists residencies. [10]

Workneh is active in promoting and supporting Black artists through her work with Theaster Gates, Carrie Mae Weems, and Eliza Myrie on the organizing committee for Black Artist Retreat [11] and through her work as a guest editor of Art Papers with an issue focusing on Art in the African Diaspora. The Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture is an artists residency located in Madison, Maine, just outside of Skowhegan. Every year, the program accepts online applications from emerging artists from November through January, and selects 65 to participate in the nine-week intensive summer program. Admissions decisions are announced in April. The school provides participants with housing, food, and studio space, and the campus offers a library, media lab, and sculpture shop, among other amenities. The tuition for the program is $6,000, however, aid is available.

Michelle Grabner is an artist, curator, and critic based in Wisconsin. She is the Crown Family Professor of Art at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago where she has taught since 1996. Lois Dodd is an American painter. Dodd was a key member of New York's postwar art scene. She played a large part and was involved in the wave of modern artists including Alex Katz and Yvonne Jacquette who explored the coast of Maine in the latter half of the 20th century.

Mika Rottenberg is a contemporary Argentine-Israeli video artist who lives and works in New York City. Paul Schimmel is an American curator of contemporary art based in Los Angeles. Schimmel served as the chief curator of The Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles (MOCA), from 1990 until 2012, where he organized numerous exhibitions. From 2013 through 2017, he was a vice president and partner with the art gallery Hauser & Wirth and co-founder of Hauser Wirth & Schimmel in Los Angeles. In late February 2017, Schimmel departed from the Hauser & Wirth enterprise, including Hauser Wirth & Schimmel in Los Angeles, with no public comment on his behalf.

Finnegan Shannon is an American multidisciplinary artist located in Brooklyn, New York, United States. Working primarily on increasing perceptions of accessibility, Finnegan's practice focuses on disability culture in inaccessible spaces. Finnegan is most known for their protest pieces such as art gallery benches criticizing lack of seating and lounges for those who cannot access stairs.
