Sarovar Hotels & Resorts are a chain of resorts and hotels throughout India. [1] The chain is owned by Groupe du Louvre which was bought by the Shanghai Municipal People's Government-owned Jinjiang International in 2015. [2]
The hotel chain was founded in 1994 by Anil Madhok, who previously had a career in managing the luxury hotel brand Oberoi Hotels. Sarovar was founded to fill the void of mid-market hotel companies from India. [3]
