Saskia Kosterink

Saskia Kosterink (born August 13, 1984 in Zwolle) is a Dutch softball coach and former player who played for the Dutch national team in international competitions in 151 games. [1] [2] She became the head coach of the Dutch softball team in 2024, beginning with the 2024 European Championships in Utrecht. [3] [4]

Kosterink played for Run '71 Oldenzaal, Tex Town Tigers  [ nl ], Gulf Coast Community College, and Sparks Haarlem  [ nl ]. She was a right-handed outfielder. She began playing for the Dutch national team in 2005. In 2007, she hit the most home runs in the Dutch Softball Hoofdklasse and during the European Championships that year she was named as Best Outfielder of the tournament. She was part of the Dutch team for the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. [2] She later played on teams in Italy and Australia. [5]

Kosterink retired from playing softball in 2015 and joined the staff of the Dutch softball team in 2017. [5] She was the head coach for the Dutch team in the U-18 Women's Softball World Cup in 2021, where the team finished seventh out of eight teams. [6] She also coached the Dutch in the 2022 European Championship. [5]

Storks is a baseball and softball team based in The Hague, The Netherlands. Storks' baseball team plays in the Honkbal Hoofdklasse, the top level of baseball in the Netherlands. The club also won three consecutive Dutch softball titles, winning the 2004, 2005 and 2006 Holland Series.

The Netherlands competed at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, People's Republic of China. This was announced in an official statement on the NOC*NSF website. The 2019 Honkbal Hoofdklasse season began Thursday, April 4. Curaçao Neptunus was the regular season champion, but it lost in the Holland Series to L&D Amsterdam, four games to three.

The 2018 European Champions Cup was the 55th iteration of the European Champions Cup, the top European baseball club competition organized by the Confederation of European Baseball. It was held in Rotterdam and Capelle aan den IJssel, Netherlands from 6 to 10 June 2018.
