Satish Pande is an Indian medical doctor, conservationist and researcher from Pune. He is an interventional radiologist at KEM Hospital, Pune. [1] [2] He also is the founder of the Ela Foundation, which works on nature education and conservation. [3] [4] [5] [6] He is a Fellow of the Maharashtra Academy of Sciences and the Linnean Society of London, [7] and has published numerous studies on wild birds. [8] [9]

For his contributions to the field of medicine, Rao was conferred Padma Shri in 2000, the fourth highest civilian award by the Government of India. He was also the founder and president of the Telugu Association of North America.

Alexander Gibson (1800–1867) was a Scottish surgeon and botanist who worked in India. He was born in Kincardineshire and studied at Edinburgh. He went to India as a surgeon in the Honourable East India Company. He became a superintendent of the Dapuri botanical gardens (1838-47) under the erstwhile Bombay Presidency.He was appointed as the first Conservator of Forests of India on March 22, 1847.He published several works on botany and reports on forestry in India. He laid a foundation stone of Indian forestry and made a memorable contribution.

Jitendra Nath Pande or J. N. Pande was an Indian Pulmonologist and Professor and Head of Medicine at the All India Institute of Medical Studies (AIIMS). He was working as Senior Consultant (Medicine) at Sitaram Bhartia Institute of Science & Research, New Delhi. He died on 23 May 2020 during sleep when he was home quarantined due to COVID-19 positivity during the COVID-19 pandemic in India, in New Delhi.

She is the sixth woman in the Indian Armed Forces to be promoted to a three-star rank. She is the third woman officer to hold the rank of Vice Admiral in the Indian Navy, after Surgeon Vice Admirals Punita Arora and Sheila S. Mathai.
