Sarbananda Sonowal is an Indian politician from Assam who is the current Cabinet Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways and Cabinet Minister of AYUSH in the Government of India. He is a Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha from Assam and also a member of the Cabinet Committee on Political Affairs. He is a former Chief Minister of Assam and a former Member of the Legislative Assembly (India) in Assam Legislative Assembly. Sonowal earlier served as the Assam state President of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from 2012 to 2014 and again in 2015 to 2016. He has also served as the Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs, Government of India, from 2014 to 2016. He was chosen to be the Chief Minister of Assam after the 2016 Assam Legislative Assembly election and he became the first Chief Minister of Assam from Bharatiya Janata Party. During the cabinet reshuffle on 7 July 2021, he was inducted Cabinet minister in the 2nd Modi Cabinet.
The Assam Legislative Assembly is the unicameral legislature of the Indian state of Assam. It is housed in Guwahati, the capital city of Assam, geographically situated in present Western Assam region. The Legislative Assembly comprises 126 Members of Legislative Assembly, directly elected from single-seat constituencies. Its term is five years, unless sooner dissolved.
Himanta Biswa Sarma is an Indian politician serving as the 15th and incumbent Chief Minister of Assam. A former member of the Indian National Congress political party, Sarma joined the Bharatiya Janata Party on 23 August 2015. He is a five time Member of the Assam Legislative Assembly from Jalukbari, having first been elected in 2001.

Currently, he is the Deputy-Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh from July 2016 under Pema Khandu. Biswajit Daimary is an Indian politician from Bharatiya Janata Party. He is current speaker of Assam Legislative Assembly. He represented Assam in Rajya Sabha as a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party and as a member of the Bodoland People's Front. He was first elected as Member of Assam Legislative Assembly from 2001 to 2006 and later elected as Member of Parliament to Rajya Sabha from 2008 to 2014. He was elected for second term from 2014 to 2020 as a member of Bodoland People's Front and from 2021 as a member of the BJP. In November 2020, Daimary left BPF to join Bharatiya Janata Party before Bodoland Territorial Council elections. On 21 November 2020, Daimary resigned from the Rajya Sabha. He was re-elected on 23 February 2021.

Dr Numal Momin, a doctor by profession is also a member of Bharatiya Janata Party and serving as a spokesperson of the party's Assam Pradesh Unit. Additionally, Momin is the chairperson of Assam Urban Water Supply and Sewerage Board. He belongs to the Garo community.
Bhabesh Kalita is a Bharatiya Janata Party politician from Assam. He has been elected in Assam Legislative Assembly election in 2016 and 2021 from Rangiya constituency. He joined the BJP in 1991 and was secretary of the State BJP in 2006 and general secretary from 2011. He was Minister of State for Irrigation as well as Minister of State for Education in Sarbananda Sonowal ministry from 2016 to 2021. He was elected as BJP Assam President on 26 June 2021.
Aminul Haque Laskar is a Bharatiya Janata Party politician from Assam. He has been elected as an MLA in Assam Legislative Assembly election in 2016 from Sonai constituency. He was the only Muslim to be elected to the state's legislative assembly on a BJP ticket.
The 2021 Assam Legislative Assembly election was the 15th quinquennial legislative assembly election held in the Indian state of Assam from March 27 to April 6 in three phases, to elect 126 MLAs to the 15th Assam Legislative Assembly. The votes were counted and the result declared on Sunday, 2 May. The term of the previous Fourteenth Legislative Assembly of Assam ended on 31 May 2021.
Gautam Roy is a politician of the Hailakandi District of Assam. He was six times MLA from Katlicherra constituency. He was also minister in Hiteswar Saikia and the Tarun Gogoi led Congress ministry for several times. Gautam Roy was the vice president of BCCI and also the president of Assam Cricket Association. Currently he is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
