Saul Marron (born 15 September 1981) is a Scottish actor, award-winning film producer and writer.
Born Saul-Joseph Marron, he is the youngest of four children from Crieff (Perthshire). He attended St Columba's High School, Perth.
Marron originally trained at The Space in Dundee before moving to London and receiving his B/A at East 15 Acting School in Loughton.
His first TV role was in The London Affair, working with British director Nick Hatton-Jones. He then went on to work alongside Benedict Cumberbatch and Michael Shannon in the 2017 feature film The Current War. He is currently playing the part of James Mackenzie in the BBC/HBO period drama Gentleman Jack (TV series) with Suranne Jones and Sophie Rundle. Well known for his voiceover work, Saul has appeared in several advertising campaigns, most notably the FRANK anti-drugs commercial with David Mitchell where he played the part of Baggie. In 2021 he joined the voice cast of Judge Dredd as well as voicing the titular role in the Philip Pullman audiobook 'Spring Heeled Jack' Penguin Random House
Saul's professional theatre debut was in the new play Madonna & Me(Scouse Productions) at the Jermyn Street Theatre, Piccadilly Circus. Since 2008 he has been a part of the international hit show Sh*tfaced Shakespeare. After years of sell-out runs the company travelled to the U.S in 2015 performing the cult show. Since 2016 they have been performing at the Leicester Square Theatre in London's West End.
He won multiple awards for his 80's inspired comedy mini-series 'Chantelle: Psychic P.D - Night Division (2020). The show revolves around a 1984 police comedy from the UK that became an overnight hit. The ‘All Access’ documentary crew follows the actors and egos behind-the-scenes of ‘Chantelle: Psychic P.D - Night Division’. From its huge hairdos to cheesy one-liners, cast bust-ups to torrid affairs, Chantelle: Psychic P.D is a tongue in cheek British comedy with a saucy side. The show is a mix of "real" cast interviews, behind-the-scenes footage from on-set, and clips from the fictitious cop show.
Saul is the festival director for the London International Web & Short Films Festival. Each month the festival invites guest judges, working within the industry, to review films from around the world.
Saul currently resides in East London.
