Say Hi (previously known as Say Hi to Your Mom) is a Seattle-based indie rock [2] band formed in Brooklyn in 2002 by Eric Elbogen. [3]
Say Hi's albums are recorded at Elbogen's home, [4] with him playing all of the instruments & providing vocals.
Eric Elbogen was born in 1976 and grew up in San Fernando Valley, California. He attended UCLA.
He moved to Brooklyn, New York & created Say Hi to Your Mom in 2002. [5]
He plays a Fender Jazzmaster guitar.
Elbogen most often tours as a solo act, but occasionally employs friends to accompany him as his backing band.
Their fourth release, Impeccable Blahs, was written almost entirely about vampires, [6] though Star Trek is also mentioned. [2] The song "Angels and Darlas" is a reference to Angel and Darla from the television series Buffy the Vampire Slayer and its spinoff Angel both created by Joss Whedon.
With the release of their fifth album The Wishes and the Glitch , the band shortened their name to "Say Hi". [7]
This was done because the earlier name reflected an aesthetic that no longer matched the band's tastes. [8]

Oohs & Aahs (2009) is the sixth full-length album by Say Hi and was released on March 3, 2009. Oohs & Aahs was written and recorded entirely by Eric Elbogen in his home studio over the course of 2008.
Bounce at the Devil is the fourth studio album by Dublin band Republic of Loose. It was released on October 8, 2010, on Fish don't fear nets records. It was recorded at Wrightway Studios in Baltimore, Maryland, and the additional recordings were done at Mule Studios, Dublin. The album received critical acclaim. They also received an IMRO award for Bounce at the Devil going to number one in the Irish Independent Chart. The album peaked at number 10 in the Irish music charts. Bo Starks made an appearance on the song "99". "The Man", "99" and "The Blah Bounce" were released as singles.
