Middle River is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Baltimore County, Maryland, United States. The population was 33,203 at the 2020 census. A Middle River Train Station first appeared on the 1877 G.M. Hopkins & Co Baltimore County Map and by 1898 had a designated Post Office and modest street grid. The town expanded during the 1930s and 1940s and established the "Aero Acres" housing community which borders the railroad tracks and Martin Blvd. to serve as housing for people working at the Martin Aerospace Company. For this development, the architecture firm of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill designed gable-roofed Cape Cod houses with dimensions of 24 feet by 28 feet, featuring large commercial-style windows in their principal rooms. In 1941 a total of 600 homes were built at Aero Acres using this design from Cemento .[2]

It is home to the headquarters of the Social Security Administration (SSA) and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). It is bordered by Catonsville on the south, by the Patapsco River and Howard County on the west, by Randallstown and Lochearn to the north, and by the City of Baltimore to the east. Parts of Woodlawn are sometimes informally referred to as Security, Maryland, due to the importance of the SSA's headquarters as well as nearby Security Boulevard and Security Square Mall.

The Imam Mahdi Islamic Education Center (IMIEC) of Baltimore is a mosque and Islamic education center in Baltimore County, Maryland, United States. It is located on 2406 Putty Hill Ave, Parkville, Maryland, 21234; the site was purchased in 2003 by donation of a local Muslim. It is a heavily fortified building, with no way in other than with a key. Unfortunately, it currently lacks any guards and the current owner of the mosque is unknown, though one can contact IMIEC leadership through their website. As with many American mosques, there is not a permanent sheikh only serving IMIEC. Learned community members, both male and female, give lectures when the sheikh is traveling. IMIEC is independently funded by community members, not by the Iranian government.

Bromo Arts District is one of four designated arts district in Baltimore, MD and is centered around the Emerson Bromo-Seltzer Tower, which houses artist studios. The West Baltimore Innovation Village District is a neighborhood district of Baltimore City that will specialize in attracting startup companies and other employers to West Baltimore. Following the Death of Freddie Gray and the subsequent 2015 Baltimore protests, government leaders decided to launch the innovation district as a way to attract redevelopment and revitalization to the areas hardest hit by the protests. The district includes the neighborhoods of Mondawmin, Coppin Heights, Penn-North, Reservoir Hill and Bolton Hill.
