School of Art, Game and Animation (SAGA) is a Brazilian school of computer graphics created in 2003 focused on digital art, computer graphics with courses for beginners, complete course in digital animation, 3D game development, market development model electronics and techniques of creating art for games. [1] Formerly called "AIS".

History

Founded in 2003, initially as a school computer courses, repositioned its line of action in 2008 (when it was renamed Saga), and became a school of art courses and digital animation. Saga operates in São Paulo, Salvador, Recife, Brasilia and Belo Horizonte. In March 2011 the school and the Gnomon School of Visual Effects, United States, marked the partnership, the result is the creation of an international school of digital art that will "bring together the best artists in the world to train professionals able to work with leading technologies CG, animation and visual effects used in Hollywood". [2]

The Animation Workshop

The Animation Workshop is an animation school housed in the former military barracks in Viborg, Denmark. It is a part of VIA University College's School of Business, Technology and Creative Industries. Since the late 1980s, The Animation Workshop has educated and trained animators for the Danish as well as the international animation, computer game and visual effects industry. The Animation Workshop has a strong international network of artists, professionals, companies, funding institutions and partner schools. Teachers and students come from Denmark and the rest of the world, and all classes are conducted in English.

A pixel artist is a graphic designer who specializes in computer art and can refer to a number of artistic and professional disciplines which focus on visual communication and presentation. The history of computer animation began as early as the 1940s and 1950s, when people began to experiment with computer graphics – most notably by John Whitney. It was only by the early 1960s when digital computers had become widely established, that new avenues for innovative computer graphics blossomed. Initially, uses were mainly for scientific, engineering and other research purposes, but artistic experimentation began to make its appearance by the mid-1960s – most notably by Dr Thomas Calvert. Gnomon is a for-profit college in Hollywood, California. The school focuses on artistic and technical training for careers in the visual effects and games industries. It was founded in 1997 by Alex Alvarez. Gnomon was originally created to train industry artists, though it has evolved into a more all-encompassing art school. In March 2011, Fast Company included Gnomon in its list of the 10 Most Innovative Companies in Film.
