The School of Politics and International Studies (POLIS) is part of the faculty of Education, Social Sciences and Law (ESSL) at the University of Leeds. The head of school is currently Professor Duncan McCargo, who recently replaced Professor Clive Jones. [1]
POLIS runs a number of undergraduate Bachelor of Arts courses in international development, international relations, politics, and politics and parliamentary studies. The school also has a large number of postgraduate students, offering taught Master of Arts courses in Global Development with the opportunity for specialisation in Africa, education, gender, international political economy, and political economy of international resources. MA courses in politics, international relations, conflict, development and security and security, terrorism and insurgency are also available. [2]
Research degrees at the level of MA, MPhil and Ph.D. can all be taken at POLIS. [3]
Owing largely to the international nature of the postgraduate courses offered at POLIS, 50% of postgraduates are international students The School is also closely linked with the Leeds University Centre for African Studies (LUCAS).

Duncan McCargo is a British academic who is serving as Director of the Nordic Institute of Asian Studies and Professor of Political Science at the University of Copenhagen. He is currently a Visiting Professor in the School of Politics and International Studies at the University of Leeds, where he was a faculty member from 1993 to 2020. Between 2015 and 2019 he held a shared appointment at Columbia University, where he was a Visiting Professor of Political Science and taught every spring semester. McCargo is also a visiting scholar at the Weatherhead East Asian Institute, Columbia University, and an associate fellow of the New-York-based Asia Society.
The S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS) is an autonomous Singapore graduate school and policy-oriented think tank within the Nanyang Technological University (NTU). Known earlier as the Institute of Defence and Strategic Studies when it was established in July 1996, RSIS offers graduate education in international affairs, taught by an array of international faculty. The school is named after Singapore's former Deputy Prime Minister, the late S. Rajaratnam.

He is a member of the Leeds University Centre for African Studies (LUCAS) advisory board and deputy chair of the Review of African Political Economy (ROAPE). Bush is married to Dr. Mette Wiggen, a fellow academic at POLIS.

Franklin "Frank" J.B. Stilwell is an influential Australian political economist and professor emeritus. He is known for establishing, with Evan Jones, Gavan Butler, Margaret Power and Ted Wheelwright, an independent political economy department at the University of Sydney. His research interests include theories of political economy, urbanisation and regional development, Australian economic policy and the nature of work. His textbooks on the subject are standard teaching material for all university students in Australia studying the field of Political Economy. Stilwell's contribution to heterodox economics makes him a noteworthy figure of the Australian New Left.

The Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University is Boston University's newest school and was established in 2014 by bringing together a number of long-established programs in international and regional studies at Boston University. The inaugural dean of the Pardee School is Adil Najam. The Pardee School has nearly 1,000 students, including about 800 undergraduate students. It offers six graduate degrees, two graduate certificates, five undergraduate majors, and eight undergraduate minors, and also brings together seven centers and programs of regional and thematic studies.
