Scott Moak is an American public address announcer best known for his work for the Sacramento Kings of the National Basketball Association. He previously worked for the Kings as Vice President of game entertainment, production and content, as well as Vice President of Community Impact. [1]

Moak has also served as the public address voice of NCAA games at California State University at Sacramento and during the U.S. Track & Field Olympic Trials in Sacramento.

Education

Moak attended John F. Kennedy High School in Sacramento. He also earned an undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of California at Davis. [2]

Career

After graduating from UC Davis, where he worked as a radio announcer, Moak earned a job as a PA announcer for football and basketball games at Kennedy High School where his father worked. [3]

In 2002, Moak successfully auditioned for the Sacramento Kings to replace their longtime announcer Fred Anderson. [3] From the 2003–2004 season onward, he shared the public address announcing duties with Ira Smith. [4]

From 2016 to 2020, he served as the television play-by-play voice for the Portland Trail Blazers. He rejoined the Portland Trail Blazers as the Play-By-Play Voice for the 2021-22 season after stepping down in 2020 to be with his family in order to avoid exposure to COVID-19. As of the 2015–16 season, Calabro is the lead play-by-play announcer for NBA on ESPN Radio, including NBA Finals games in 2007, 2014 and 2016 alongside personalities such as Jack Ramsay and Hubie Brown. Calabro has done ESPN radio play-by-play for the NBA Conference Finals for a decade in addition to being a regular contributor to TNT's NBA broadcasts. Calabro worked college basketball and football games for the Pac-12 Network and postseason college basketball for Westwood One Sports, including NCAA tournament action.

Lawrence Tanter is an American public address announcer best known for his work for the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association. In addition, Tanter was also the program director for public jazz radio station KKJZ.

Ira C. Smith was an American public address announcer who had worked for the Sacramento Kings of the National Basketball Association. Since 1976, Smith has been called the Voice of Napa Valley Sports for KVON and KVYN, covering many local sports.

Richard J. Callahan was an American public address announcer. He was noted for serving as the PA announcer for the Oakland Athletics from 2005 until 2019. Prior to that, he was the announcer for the Golden State Warriors, the California Golden Bears football, and various sports at Saint Mary's College of California.

Bobby Gerould is an American sports multimedia personality. Gerould was most visible as a pit reporter for World of Outlaws sprint car races telecast on CBS Sports Network, ESPN, Speed, and TNN. Bobby was the public address announcer at Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, California from 1997 through 2022. Gerould's voice is featured on the video game, Ratbag World of Outlaws Sprint Cars. In his career, Bobby has been employed in some capacity by nearly every major sanctioning body of American auto-racing, including AMA, ASA, CART, Indycar, King of the West, NARC, NASCAR, National Sprint Tour, NHRA, SCCA, TORC, USAC, and the World of Outlaws.

John F. Kennedy High School, a member of the Sacramento City Unified School District and locally known simply as Kennedy, is a public school in the Pocket-Greenhaven Area of Sacramento, California.

John Jules Ramsey was a public address announcer best known as the original PA voice for the California Angels, Los Angeles Dodgers, Los Angeles Kings, Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Raiders. He was also the PA voice for the Los Angeles Rams and USC Trojans football and basketball teams. He also announced four Super Bowls in Southern California and one in Palo Alto, California, as well as serving as the basketball PA voice during the 1984 Summer Olympics. His voice was also heard through seven World Series, the 1959, 1967 and 1980 Major League Baseball All-Star Games, ten NBA Finals, the 1963 and 1972 NBA All-Star Games.

Chris Fisher is an American play-by-play sports commentator for the Oklahoma City Thunder of the National Basketball Association (NBA) on Bally Sports Oklahoma. He spent eight seasons serving as the radio voice for USC basketball before becoming the play-by-play announcer for the Thunder for the 2018–19 NBA season.
