Scott Ziehl

Scott Ziehl is an American film director.

Ziehl attended Santa Barbara Community College before graduating from UCLA in 1990, majoring in political science and psychology. [1] He started his career as a producer of straight-to-video films. [2] His first feature, Broken Vessels, was made for $600,000 [3] and won the audience award the 1998 Los Angeles Independent Film Festival. [3] After the film's success, he was hired by Miramax to develop and direct the action film Airtime. [4]

The film debuted at the Los Angeles Independent Film Festival and marked Ziehl's directorial debut. It stars Todd Field, Jason London, Roxana Zal, Susan Traylor, and James Hong. The film follows a rookie paramedic and his hardened drug-addicted partner as they take calls and cruise L.A. in their ambulance. Although it shares the same name as the book, it has nothing to do with the Andre Dubus essay collection of the same name.
