The Seattle Redhawks — known as the Seattle Chieftains prior to January 2000 — are the intercollegiate varsity athletic teams of Seattle University of Seattle, Washington. Informally and colloquially, they are referred to as Seattle U. They compete in the NCAA's Division I as a member institution of the Western Athletic Conference (WAC). The university will become a full member of the West Coast Conference on July 1, 2025.
The Sam Houston Bearkats are the intercollegiate athletic teams that represent Sam Houston State University, located in Huntsville, Texas. Sam Houston's colors are orange and white. Sam Houston sports teams participate in NCAA Division I in Conference USA (CUSA), having joined that conference on July 1, 2023 after spending 34 years in the Southland Conference and two years in the Western Athletic Conference (WAC). SHSU's primary rival is Stephen F. Austin (SFA) and tensions between the two schools can run high before major sporting events that pit one against the other.
Kelly Lee Graves is the current head women's basketball coach at the University of Oregon. Previously, Graves was the head women's basketball coach at St. Mary's from 1997 to 2000, as well as Gonzaga University from 2000 to 2014. He was formerly an assistant coach for the Portland Pilots (1994–1997) and St. Mary Gaels, where he later got his first head coaching stint with the Gaels from 1997 to 2000. From the 2004–2005 season to the 2013–2014 season, he guided Gonzaga to ten consecutive West Coast Conference regular season titles. The 2007 team went 13–1 in conference play, and later won the WCC conference tournament. The school also received its first ever NCAA tournament appearance. He was named WCC co-coach of the year for his accomplishments. In 2005, 2010, and 2011, Gonzaga went undefeated in WCC regular season play.
The Seattle Redhawks men's basketball team represents Seattle University in NCAA Division I basketball competition. Established in 1946, the team was previously known as the Seattle Chieftains. The program experienced success during the 1950s and 1960s, reaching the NCAA Division I tournament eleven times. Led by Elgin Baylor, Seattle finished as the runner-up in the 1958 NCAA University Division basketball tournament.
The Lamar Lady Cardinals basketball team represents Lamar University in NCAA Division I women's basketball competition. The team plays in the 10,080 seat Montagne Center. The Lady Cardinals currently compete at the NCAA Division I level in the Southland Conference.

Sam Houston joined the Western Athletic Conference on July 1, 2021 after playing the previous 34 seasons in the Southland Conference, the Bearkats played in the WAC until the conclusion of the 2023 season. The Bearkats are currently coached by Ravon Justice.
The UT Arlington Mavericks women's basketball team is an NCAA Division I college basketball team competing in the Western Athletic Conference and representing the University of Texas at Arlington. Home games are played at College Park Center, located on the university's campus in Arlington, Texas. The team appeared in the 2005 NCAA tournament, losing to #4 seed Texas Tech in the first round, 69–49, and the 2007 NCAA tournament, dropping their first round game to #4 seed Texas A&M 58–50.
The 2014–15 Seattle Redhawks men's basketball team represented Seattle University during the 2014–15 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Redhawks, led by sixth year head coach Cameron Dollar, played their home games at KeyArena, with three home game at the Connolly Center, and were members of the Western Athletic Conference. They finished the season 18–16, 7–7 in WAC play to finish in a tie for fourth place. They advanced to the championship game of the WAC tournament where they lost to New Mexico State. They were invited to the College Basketball Invitational where they defeated Pepperdine in the first round and Colorado in the quarterfinals before losing in the semifinals to Loyola–Chicago.
The Idaho Vandals women's basketball team represents the University of Idaho in women's basketball in the Big Sky Conference in NCAA Division I. Home games are played on campus at Idaho Central Credit Union Arena in Moscow, Idaho.
The 2015–16 Seattle Redhawks men's basketball team represented Seattle University during the 2015–16 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Redhawks, led by seventh year head coach Cameron Dollar, played their home games at KeyArena, with two home games at the Showare Center and CBI games at the Connolly Center, and were members of the Western Athletic Conference. They finished the season 15–17, 7–7 in WAC play to finish in fourth place. They defeated Texas–Rio Grande Valley in the quarterfinals of the WAC tournament to advance to the semifinals where they lost to Cal State Bakersfield. They were invited to the College Basketball Invitational where they defeated Idaho in the first round to advance to the quarterfinals where they lost to Vermont.
The Stony Brook Seawolves women’s basketball team is the college basketball program representing Stony Brook University in Stony Brook, New York. The Seawolves currently participate as part of the NCAA Division I basketball, and compete in the Coastal Athletic Association. The Seawolves currently play their home games in the Island Federal Credit Union Arena.
The 2016–17 Seattle Redhawks men's basketball team represented Seattle University during the 2016–17 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Redhawks, led by eighth-year head coach Cameron Dollar, played their home games at KeyArena and six games at the Connolly Center as members of the Western Athletic Conference. They finished the season 13–17, 5–9 WAC play to finish in fifth place. Due to Grand Canyon's postseason ineligibility, they received the No. 4 seed in the WAC tournament where they lost in the quarterfinals to Utah Valley.
The UC Davis Aggies Women's Basketball team represent the University of California, Davis in Davis, California, United States. The school's team currently competes in the Big West Conference.
The Bethune–Cookman Wildcats women's basketball team represents Bethune–Cookman University in the sport of basketball. The Wildcats competes in the NCAA Division I and the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC). They play their home games in Moore Gymnasium on Bethune–Cookman University campus in Daytona Beach, Florida.
The 2017–18 Seattle Redhawks men's basketball team represented Seattle University during the 2017–18 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Redhawks, led by first-year head coach Jim Hayford, played their home games at KeyArena and the Connolly Center as members of the Western Athletic Conference. They finished the season 20–14, 8–6 in WAC play to finish in fourth place. It was the Redhawks' first 20-win season since 2008 and first 20-win season in Division I play since the 1960s.

The Redhawks, led by second-year head coach Jim Hayford, play their home games at the Redhawk Center, with two home games at the ShoWare Center, as members of the Western Athletic Conference. They finished the season 18–15, 6–10 in WAC play to finish in a tie for seventh place. They were defeated by Grand Canyon in the quarterfinals of the WAC tournament. They received an invitation to the CollegeInsider.com Tournament where they lost in the first round to Presbyterian.
The 2019–20 Seattle Redhawks men's basketball team represented Seattle University during the 2019–20 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Redhawks, led by third-year head coach Jim Hayford, played their home games at the Redhawk Center, with three home games at the ShoWare Center, as members of the Western Athletic Conference (WAC). They finished the season 14–15, 7–7 in WAC play, to finish in a tie for fifth place. Due to irregularities in conference standings due to cancelled games, they were set to be the No. 3 seed in the WAC tournament; however, the tournament was cancelled amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Led by second-year head coach Chris Victor, the Redhawks played their home games on campus at the Redhawk Center and off campus at Climate Pledge Arena at Seattle Center.
The 2023–24 Seattle Redhawks men's basketball team represented Seattle University in the 2023–24 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. They were led by third-year head coach Chris Victor and played their games on campus at the Redhawk Center and off campus at Climate Pledge Arena. They competed as members of the Western Athletic Conference. They finished the season 23–14, 11–9 in WAC play to finish in a tie for fourth place. As the No. 4 seed in the WAC Tournament, they defeated California Baptist in the quarterfinals, before losing to Grand Canyon in the semifinals. They received an invitation to the CBI, where they defeated Delaware State, Evansville, Fairfield, and High Point to win the CBI championship, the program's first postseason tournament championship.

The Redhawks, who were led by first-year head coach Skyler Young, played their home games at the Redhawk Center in Seattle, Washington, as members of the Western Athletic Conference.
