Redhawk Center is a 999-seat multi-purpose arena in Seattle, Washington on the campus of Seattle University. It was built in 1959 and is home to the Seattle University Redhawks women's basketball and volleyball teams, as well as the home court for the Redhawks men's team, which also plays at nearby Climate Pledge Arena since 2008 when the school returned to NCAA Division I.
On December 15, 2014, the men's team returned for the first time since 2008, for a single game against Northwest University, which Seattle won. The Redhawk Center was also used for College Basketball Invitational games in mid-March in 2015 and 2016.
The arena underwent a major remodel for the 2014–15 season, with new seating, court, and more.
Starting in 2016, the men's team will play six regular season games at the Redhawk Center, with possible plans for even more home games in the future here. The school cites the change to getting more student involvement, a more intimate home setting, the success of hosting CBI games here the last two years, and the lack of attendance at KeyArena.
From 2018 until 2021, Seattle U played all home games at the Redhawk Center while KeyArena underwent a major renovation.
In 2018, the school renamed the Connolly Center to its current name. Originally named for Archbishop Thomas Connolly, the school removed his name due to Connolly's involvement in covering up sex crimes committed by a parish priest, Father Michael Cody. [1] Connolly died in 1991.

Climate Pledge Arena is a multi-purpose indoor arena in Seattle, Washington, United States. It is located north of Downtown Seattle in the 74-acre (30 ha) entertainment complex known as Seattle Center, the site of the 1962 World's Fair, for which it was originally developed. After opening in 1962, it was subsequently bought and converted by the city of Seattle for entertainment purposes. From 2018 to 2021, the arena underwent a $1.15 billion redevelopment; the renovation preserved the original exterior and roof, which was declared a Seattle Landmark in 2017 and was listed on the Washington Heritage Register as well as the National Register of Historic Places in 2018. The renovated venue has a capacity of 17,151 for ice hockey and 18,300 for basketball.
Alaska Airlines Arena at Hec Edmundson Pavilion is an indoor arena in the northwest United States, on the campus of the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington. It serves as home to several of the university's sports teams, known as the Washington Huskies of the Pac-12 Conference until the 2023-24 season. Starting with the 2024-25 season, Washington becomes a member of the Big Ten Conference.
The Seattle Redhawks — known as the Seattle Chieftains prior to January 2000 — are the intercollegiate varsity athletic teams of Seattle University of Seattle, Washington. Informally and colloquially, they are referred to as Seattle U. They compete in the NCAA's Division I as a member institution of the Western Athletic Conference (WAC). The university will become a full member of the West Coast Conference on July 1, 2025.
Mercer Arena, previously known as the Exposition Building, Civic Ice Arena, and Seattle Center Arena, was a performing arts venue situated in Seattle Center in Seattle, Washington. Constructed in 1927 next to the Seattle Civic Auditorium, it was built at a cost of $1 million. The arena was located at Mercer Street and 4th Avenue North and predated the Seattle Center Coliseum by about 35 years. Mercer Arena was demolished in 2017.
The Seattle Redhawks men's basketball team represents Seattle University in NCAA Division I basketball competition. Established in 1946, the team was previously known as the Seattle Chieftains. The program experienced success during the 1950s and 1960s, reaching the NCAA Division I tournament eleven times. Led by Elgin Baylor, Seattle finished as the runner-up in the 1958 NCAA University Division basketball tournament.

They were invited to the College Basketball Invitational where they defeated Pepperdine in the first round and Colorado in the quarterfinals before losing in the semifinals to Loyola–Chicago.

They finished the season 20–14, 8–6 in WAC play to finish in fourth place. It was the Redhawks' first 20-win season since 2008 and first 20-win season in Division I play since the 1960s.

The Redhawks, led by second year head coach Suzy Barcomb, played their home games at the Connolly Center and were members of the Western Athletic Conference. They finished the season 18–15, 9–5 in WAC play to finish in a tie for third place. They won the WAC women's tournament for the first time in school history by defeating Cal State Bakersfield to earn an automatic trip to their first NCAA women's tournament, where they lost to Oregon in the first round.

The 2022–23 Seattle Redhawks men's basketball team represented Seattle University in the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) during the 2022–23 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. Led by second-year head coach Chris Victor, the Redhawks played their home games on campus at the Redhawk Center and off campus at Climate Pledge Arena at Seattle Center.
The 2022–23 WAC men's basketball season began with practices in October 2022 followed by the start of the 2022–23 NCAA Division I men's basketball season in November 2022. The conference began play in December 2022. This is the WAC's 61st season of basketball. The WAC competed again with 13 teams with two teams leaving the conference and two teams joining the conference from the prior year. Chicago State turned independent and Lamar moved to the Southland Conference. Southern Utah University joins from the Big Sky Conference and UT Arlington joins from the Sun Belt Conference. Dixie State was also renamed as Utah Tech. Each WAC member played an 18-game conference schedule. The WAC tournament was held March 6–11, 2023 at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
