Sekonaia Pole (born 2 April 1995) is a New Zealand professional rugby union player.

Biography

Pole was an Otago Boys' High School first XV captain. [1]

A hooker, Pole competed for Otago from 2015 to 2019. He made three appearances off the bench for the Highlanders in the 2017 Super Rugby season. Since 2020, Pole has played his rugby in Japan with the Urayasu D-Rocks. [2] [3]

Pole is a cousin of Otago prop Abraham Pole. [4]

It was founded by the Christian Brothers in 1927 for boys and became a co-educational school in 1983 after the Dominican Sisters closed down St Parick's College, Teschemakers, Oamaru. St Kevin's College became a state integrated school in 1983. The Otago Rugby Football Union is the official governing body of rugby union for the Otago region of New Zealand. The union is based in the city of Dunedin, and its home ground is Forsyth Barr Stadium. The top representative team competes in the ITM Cup, New Zealand's top provincial competition. The union was to have been liquidated in March 2012. However a deal involving the Dunedin City Council allowed it to keep operating. Otago have won the Ranfurly Shield on seven occasions.
