Selaelo Rasebotja (born 26 April 2001) is a South African soccer player who plays as a midfielder for SuperSport United in the Premier Soccer League. [2]
He hails from Limpopo Province. While attending a football school of excellence, he represented South Africa U20 at the 2019 COSAFA U-20 Cup. He was signed by SuperSport United to their youth selection, being drafted into the senior team in the summer of 2021. [3] Following his debut for SuperSport United, manager Kaitano Tembo nicknamed Rasebotja "Iniesta". [4]
Rasebotja was called up to Bafana Bafana for the 2022 COSAFA Cup. Here, South Africa lost to Mozambique on penalty shootouts. In a consolation tournament known as the Plate, Butsaka scored his first international goal against Botswana. [1] [5] Subsequently, SuperSport United refused to let Rasebotja or any other of their players join the South African team for the 2022 African Nations Championship qualification against Comoros, citing that the 2022-23 South African Premier Division start was too close. [6]

The team's nickname is Bafana Bafana, and South Africa's home ground is FNB Stadium, which is located in Johannesburg. The team's greatest result was winning the Africa Cup of Nations at home in 1996. The team is a member of both FIFA and Confederation of African Football (CAF).

Association football, or soccer, as it is usually called in South Africa, is the nation's most popular sport and South Africa national soccer team is the nation's favourite sports team followed by rugby union and cricket. The governing body is the South African Football Association (SAFA), while the Premier Soccer League is the organisation responsible for running the country's two professional divisions, namely the South African Premier Division and the National First Division. The main cup competitions are the Nedbank Cup, Telkom Knockout, and the MTN 8 Cup.
The Madagascar women's national football team is the FIFA recognised senior women's A team for Madagascar. The team played their first FIFA matches in 2015. They were runner-up to Réunion in the 2015 Indian Ocean Island Games. They have competed in the COSAFA Women's Championship, in which they won a game against Comoros in 2019. The development of a national team in the country is problematic because of issues found on the continent and on the island, specifically including the lack of popularity of women's football as a participation sport in Madagascar.
