Semiconductor (also Semiconductor Films) is UK artist duo Ruth Jarman and Joe Gerhardt. They have been working together for over twenty years producing visually and intellectually engaging moving image works which explore the material nature of our world and how we experience it through the lens of science and technology, questioning how these devices mediate our experiences. Their unique approach has won them many awards, commissions and prestigious fellowships including; SónarPLANTA 2016 commission, Collide @ CERN Ars Electronica Award 2015, Jerwood Open Forest 2015 and Samsung Art + Prize 2012. History

Ruth Jarman (b. 1973) and Joe Gerhardt (b. 1972) started making art as Semiconductor in 1997. Their art uses computer animation to explore science, time, scale, and natural forces. They work in different media ranging from single and multichannel video works, sound, installations, performance and DVD releases. They are currently based in Brighton U.K. They have completed a number of fellowships and residencies at CERN, Geneva, Switzerland; The Smithsonian Institution at The National Museum of Natural History, Washington DC, USA; Gulbenkian Galapagos Artists Residency; Exploratorium, San Francisco, USA; The NASA Space Sciences Laboratories UC Berkeley California USA; Berwick Gymnasium Fellowship Berwick-Upon-Tweed UK and Couvent des Récollets Paris.

They have performed and exhibited at Biennale of Sydney, Venice Biennale, Hirshhorn Museum Smithsonian Institution Washington DC USA, Nuit Blanche Paris, Institute of Contemporary Arts London, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Prague Contemporary Art Festival, Careof Gallery Milan, EMAF Osnabruck, and Beaconsfield Gallery London.

National Science and Media Museum

The National Science and Media Museum, located in Bradford, West Yorkshire, is part of the national Science Museum Group in the UK. Eileen Cooper is a British artist, known primarily as a painter and printmaker.

Bill Jones is a photographer, installation artist, performer and writer living in Brooklyn, NY. His work is concerned with light as both a physical phenomenon and metaphorical figure. Jones was part of the Vancouver School of conceptual photography, along with such artists as Rodney Graham, Ian Wallace and Jeff Wall. Jones has three daughters; his youngest daughter is actress and screenwriter Zoe Lister-Jones. He is married to visual artist and writer Joy Garnett.

Callum Innes is a Scottish abstract painter, a former Turner Prize nominee and winner of the Jerwood Painting Prize. He lives and works in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Joanna Priestley

Joanna Priestley is a contemporary film director, producer, animator and teacher. Her films are in the collections of the Academy Film Archive in Los Angeles and the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Priestley has had retrospectives at the British Film Institute, Museum of Modern Art and Hiroshima International Animation Festival in Japan. Bill Plympton calls her the "Queen of independent animation". Priestley lives and works in Portland, Oregon.

Max Hattler German video artist and experimental filmmaker

Max Hattler is a German video artist and experimental filmmaker. He created the kaleidoscopic political short films "Collision" (2005) and "Spin" (2010), abstract stop motion works "Shift" (2012) and "AANAATT" (2008), and psychedelic animation loops "Sync", "1923 aka Heaven" and "1925 aka Hell" (2010).

Amar Kanwar was born in New Delhi in 1964 where he continues to live and work as a filmmaker. Kanwar studied at the Department of History, Ramjas College, Delhi University (1982-1985), and at the Mass Communication Research Center, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi (1985–87). After making a few films, Kanwar joined the People's Science Institute in 1988 as a researcher on occupational health and safety in the coal-mining belt of Madhya Pradesh in central India. He returned to filmmaking in 1990, and his films were then shown primarily in public campaigns, community spaces and film festivals in India and across the world. Kanwar's filmmaking practice challenges the limits of the medium in order to create complex narratives traversing several terrains such as labour and indigenous rights, gender, religious fundamentalism and ecology. In 2002, Kanwar was invited to exhibit at Documenta 11 in Kassel whereupon his work has also been presented in several art exhibitions and museums. Connecting with diverse audiences, in multiple public spaces, Kanwar also participated in the next three editions of the Documenta exhibition in 2007, 2012 and 2017. He has been an eminent voice in film and art for the past two decades.

Drew Berry is an American biomedical animator at the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research in Melbourne, Australia. He produces animations of proteins and protein complexes to illustrate cellular and molecular processes.

"Traveller" was recorded for Linde Nijland's album, A Musical Journey, in 2010. The story of the video is based on her lyrics, which portrait a traveller who asks herself questions along the road. Symbolically, the questions are about the meaning of life. The video is intended to convey the astral sense of the song. A 2D computer animation with watercolour paintings were designated for the background, to carry over the softness and pureness of Nijland's voice and music into the video.

Nelly Ben Hayoun French designer, artist and filmmaker (born 1985)

Nelly Ben Hayoun is a French designer, artist and filmmaker. Born in Valence, Drôme, France, Ben Hayoun now resides in London, United Kingdom. An award-winning director and designer of experiences, she works with scientists and engineers to devise events and experiences. She serves on the Advisory Council of METI and she is the designer of experiences at the SETI Institute. Ben Hayoun is also an exhibitor and keynote speaker who has worked with museums and design centres across the world.

Nick Jordan is a visual artist and experimental filmmaker based in Manchester, UK. Jordan's work has been shown widely at international exhibitions and film festivals, including Innsbruck International Biennale (Austria); ICA (London); Kunstmuseum (Bonn); Musée du quai Branly (Paris); Whitstable Biennale; BFI London Film Festival; Encounters Short Film and Animation Festival; Edinburgh International Film Festival (EIFF); Portland International Film Festival; Haus der Kulturen (Berlin); State Darwin Museum (Moscow); Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival; São Paulo International Short Film Festival (Brazil); Kassel Dokfest (Germany); Documenta (Madrid). Kelly Sears is an American animator and filmmaker. In 2015 she lives in Los Angeles, California and is Assistant Professor of Film at University of Colorado Boulder. Her work consists of video, digital animation, stop-motion animation, digital imaging, and sound design.

Maria Lynch is a Brazilian artist.

Sarah Pickering is a British visual artist working with photography and related media including 3D scanning and digital rendering, performance, appropriated objects and print. Her artist statement says she is interested in "fakes, tests, hierarchy, sci-fi, explosions, photography and gunfire." She is based in London.

Rowan Mersh (1982) is an English multi-media sculptor. He is known for his free-standing sculptures and large-scale wall pieces made of thousands of components of various materials engaged to create an effect of fluidity and soft-like appearance.

Tania Kovats is an English visual artist, best known for her sculpture, installation art and drawing.
