Senoj-Jay Givans (Born December 30, 1993 in Jamaica) is a track runner formerly from the University of Texas born in Jamaica. [1] He ran a 9.96 100-meter time at the 2016 NCAA championships breaking the 10-second barrier. [2] This was the 9th fastest time in collegiate history. [3] He competed in the Olympic Trials for the Jamaica in 2016. [4] He earned a bronze medal at the 2012 World Junior Championships in Athletics – Men's 4 × 100 metres relay.

Currently, Florence Griffith-Joyner holds the world record for women at 10.49 since 1988. The 10-second barrier for women is still about half a second away.

She is only the second woman ever to score in four events at an NCAA Outdoor Championships in consecutive seasons. She is a four time NCAA 4 x 100 champion. Akinosun won a gold medal at the 2013 USA Junior Championships, in the 100m (11.64).

The 1997 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships were contested June 4−7 at Billy Hayes Track at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana in order to determine the individual and team national champions of men's and women's collegiate Division I outdoor track and field events in the United States.

Grant Holloway American athlete

Grant Holloway is an American hurdler and sprinter. He attended Grassfield High School in Chesapeake, Virginia. He is the world champion (2019) in the 110 meter hurdles. He won three straight indoor and outdoor NCAA championships in the 60 m hurdles and 110 m hurdles from 2017 to 2019, and is the current National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) record holder in both events in addition to the 4 × 100 m relay.
