Severino Zuazo Ugalde (19 May 1889 - 20 July 1980) was a Spanish footballer who played as a forward for Athletic Club. [1] [2] He spent his whole career at Athletic, which makes him one of the first footballers to play for Athletic for his entire career, and thus to be part of the so-called one-club men group.
He was the brother of the architect Secundino Zuazo. [3]
Born in Bilbao, he began playing football in 1908 at his hometown Athletic Club. Zuazo played a pivotal role in helping the club win a North Regional Championship in 1914 and three Copa del Reys in 1910, 1911 and 1914. He was one of the most outstanding players in the latter edition, being its top scorer with a total of 5 goals, including both in a 2–1 win over España FC in the final. [4] [5] He also starred in the first-ever match played at the San Mamés stadium on 21 August 1913, in a friendly against Racing de Irun, making the kick-off that started the game and later assisting Pichichi for the first-ever goal scored at the stadium. [6] On 18 January 1914, Zuazo become the second player in history to score a hat-trick in San Mamés in a Regional Championship match against Sporting de Irún, achieving the feat only minutes after the debutant Félix Zubizarreta scored five goals in that game. The 1914 Copa del Rey Final was the 14th final of the Spanish cup competition, the Copa del Rey. The final was played at Costorbe in Irun on 10 May 1914. The match was won by Athletic Bilbao, who beat España FC 2–1. The star of the match was Severino Zuazo, who scored the goals that gave the cup to Athletic, while Jaime Villena reduced the deficit for España with two minutes remaining.
Manuel Prast Rodríguez de Llano was a footballer who played as a striker for Madrid FC between 1904 and 1908, and 1911 and 1914. He was a historical member of Madrid FC, playing a pivotal role in Madrid's four back-to-back Copa del Rey titles between 1905 and 1908, playing in all the finals and scoring in three of them, including the winning goals in the finals of 1905 and 1907 and a brace in 1906. Even though he had a short footballing career, Zubizarreta managed to leave a considerable footprint in Spanish football, playing a pivotal role in Athletic's three Copa del Rey titles in a row between 1914 and 1916, in which he netted a goal in the 1915 final and a hat-trick in the 1916 final against Madrid FC.

Although history seems to have blurred the legend of Hurtado, he was one of the most important footballers in the amateur beginnings of Athletic Club.

He spent all 13 seasons of his playing career with Athletic Bilbao, thus being a historical member of the club in the 1910s and part of the so-called one-club men group. Naturally, he was also the second player in the history of the club to reach one hundred official matches for them, the first being Domingo Acedo. He played a pivotal role in helping the Basque club reach six Copa del Rey finals and winning five of them, including three back-to-back titles between 1914 and 1916.
