Shah Waliullah Adeeb (born 1969) is an Afghan politician who served as the Governor of Badakhshan from 2010 to 2015. [1] He is the son of Mohammad Islam,Shah Waliullah Adeeb. After the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan,Adeeb migrated to Pakistan,where he attended an institute and college in Peshawar. He then earned his degree in Arabic literature and Islamic education in Libya. He completed a master's degree at a Sudanese state university,a doctorate degree from Sudan’s Khartoum State University,and a third degree in 2007 from an international vocational institute in United States. He also served in various government positions both inside and outside Afghanistan.
Before assuming the office of governor of Badakhshan,Adeeb served as head,spokesman and high council member in the higher education ministry. During his stay in Pakistan,he was member of Almujahidoon magazine. He worked as an official in Afghanistan Embassy in Libya and was additionally the leader of a youth organization for migration in Pakistan,Libya and Sudan. He worked as a lecturer at Africa University in Sudan in addition to various other capacities. Shah Waliullah Adeeb has written several books and papers and attended multiple national and international conferences and seminars. He speaks Dari,Pashto,Arabic and English,and is affiliated with the Jamiat Islami Party.
Burhānuddīn Rabbānī was an Afghan politician and teacher who served as President of Afghanistan from 1992 to 1996,and again from November to December 2001.
The Taliban,which also refers to itself by its state name,the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan,is a Deobandi Islamic fundamentalist and Pashtun nationalist militant political movement in Afghanistan. It ruled approximately three-quarters of the country from 1996 to 2001,before being overthrown following the American invasion. It recaptured Kabul on 15 August 2021 following the departure of most coalition forces,after nearly 20 years of insurgency,and currently controls all of the country. However,its government is not recognized by any country. The Taliban government has been criticized for restricting human rights in Afghanistan,including the right of women and girls to work and to have an education.
The Deobandi movement or Deobandism is a revivalist movement within Sunni Islam that adheres to the Hanafi school of law. It formed in the late 19th century around the Darul Uloom Madrassa in Deoband,India,from which the name derives,by Muhammad Qasim Nanautavi,Rashid Ahmad Gangohi,and several others,after the Indian Rebellion of 1857–58. They consider themselves the continuation of Ahlus Sunnah wal Jamaat. The main purpose of this movement was to reject the grave worshipping,shirk and protect the orthodoxy of Islam from Bidah,as well as the influence of non-Muslim cultures on the Muslim of South Asia. The movement pioneered education in religious sciences through the Dars-i-Nizami associated with the Lucknow-based ulema of Firangi Mahal with the goal of preserving traditional Islamic teachings from the influx of modernist,secular ideas during British colonial rule. The Deobandi movement's Indian clerical wing,Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind,was founded in 1919 and played a major role in the Indian independence movement through its participation in the Pan-Islamist Khalifat movement and propagation of the doctrine of composite nationalism. The movement shares several similarities with Wahhabism.
Kandahār is one of the thirty-four provinces of Afghanistan,located in the southern part of the country,sharing a border with Pakistan,to the south. It is surrounded by Helmand in the west,Uruzgan in the north and Zabul Province in the east. Its capital is the city of Kandahar,Afghanistan's second largest city,which is located on the Arghandab River. The greater region surrounding the province is called Loy Kandahar. The Emir of Afghanistan sends orders to Kabul from Kandahar making it the de facto capital of Afghanistan,although the main government body operates in Kabul. All meetings with the Emir take place in Kandahar,meetings excluding the Emir are in Kabul.

It is bordered by Tajikistan's Gorno-Badakhshan in the north and the Pakistani regions of Lower and Upper Chitral and Gilgit-Baltistan in the southeast. Ahl-i-Hadith or Ahl-e-Hadith is a Salafi reform movement that emerged in North India in the mid-nineteenth century from the teachings of Sayyid Ahmad Shahid,Syed Nazeer Husain and Nawab Siddiq Hasan Khan. It is an offshoot of the 19th-century Indian Tariqah-i-Muhammadiya movement tied to the 18th-century traditions of Shah Waliullah Dehlawi and the Wahhabi movement. The adherents of the movement described themselves variously as "Muwahideen" and as "Ahl e-Hadith".
The Northern Alliance,officially known as the United Islamic National Front for the Salvation of Afghanistan,was a military alliance of groups that operated between late 1996 to 2001 after the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (Taliban) took over Kabul. The United Front was originally assembled by key leaders of the Islamic State of Afghanistan,particularly president Burhanuddin Rabbani and former Defense Minister Ahmad Shah Massoud. Initially it included mostly Tajiks but by 2000,leaders of other ethnic groups had joined the Northern Alliance. This included Karim Khalili,Abdul Rashid Dostum,Abdullah Abdullah,Mohammad Mohaqiq,Abdul Qadir,Asif Mohseni,Amrullah Saleh and others.
Ubaidullah Sindhi was a political activist of the Indian independence movement and one of its vigorous leaders. According to Dawn,Karachi,Maulana Ubaidullah Sindhi struggled for the independence of British India and for an exploitation-free society in India. He was also Home Minister of first Provisional Government of India established in Afghanistan in 1915.
Nabi Bakhsh Khan Baloch was a Pakistani research scholar,historian,sindhologist,educationist,linguist and writer. He predominantly wrote in Sindhi,but sometimes in Urdu,English,Persian and Arabic. He has been described as the "moving library" of the Pakistani province of Sindh.
Agha Rafiq Ahmed Khan a Pakistani jurist belongs to Garhi Yasin in Shikarpur District of Sindh,Pakistan. He is the son-in-law of Justice Mushtak Ali Kazi,who was a Judge of High Court of Sindh and Balochistan. Justice Agha is a Senior Advocate of the Supreme Court of Pakistan. He served as the 12th Chief Justice of the Federal Shariat Court of Pakistan from 2009-2014.

Sayed Noorullah Murad is an Afghan politician,military commander and member of the Afghan cabinet during the presidency of Hamid Karzai. He was born in Kunduz city in the north of Afghanistan. His father Mawlawi Abdul Jalil Faqiri,is a famous religious and social leader of Afghanistan.
On March 4,2012,at least three avalanches struck the Badakhshan province of northeastern Afghanistan. One of those avalanches destroyed a small village of about 200 people. The name of the village is uncertain;some sources call it Dasty and locate it in Darzab District,and others call it Sherin Nazim and locate it in Shekay District. Two other villages were affected by the avalanche. At least 50 people were killed in the disaster.
Shah Saeed Ahmed Raipuri was a Pakistani Muslim scholar as well as the spiritual heir of Khanqah-e-Rahimia Raipur (India) and a contemporary authority of Shah Waliullah's thought. He was among prominent disciples of Maulana Shah Ilyas Kandhalvi,founder of Tablighi Jamaat and Sheikh-ul-Hadith Maulana Muhammad Zakariya. Rising above practical politics,on the basis of the thought of Shah Waliullah,Sheikh-ul-Hind Maulana Mahmood-ul-Hasan,Shah Abdul Qadir Raipuri,Maulana Ubaidullah Sindhi and Maulana Husain Ahmad Madani,he established JTI in 1967. Under his supervision,a journal named "Azm (عزم)" was launched in 1974 which is still being published. In 1987,he established an organization "Tanzeem Fikr-e-Waliullahi" based on the philosophical works of Shah Waliullah. He established "Shah Waliullah Media Foundation" to publish literature based on Waliullahi philosophy. He also established Rahimia Institute of Quranic Sciences,Lahore in 2001. There are currently five other campuses of Rahimia Institute of Quranic Sciences in Karachi,Sukkur,Multan,Rawalpindi and Peshawar. Thousands of youth are associated with the institute through the organization of seminars and other events.
Qutb ud-Din Ahmad ibn ʿAbd-ur-Rahim al-ʿUmari ad-Dehlawi,commonly known as Shah Waliullah Dehlawi,was an Islamic scholar seen by his followers as a renewer. He emphasized the importance of following Sharia and believed in the unification of Hanafi and Shafi'i schools of law,aiming to reduce legal differences. Waliullah advocated for a direct understanding of the Qur'an and promoted interpretations closest to its literal meaning,encouraging a contextual approach rather than strict adherence to a specific school.

Abūaz-Zibriqān ʿAbd ar-Raḥmān ibn ʿAbd al-HādīDāmullāal-Kāshgharīan-Nadwī,or simply Abdur Rahman Kashgari,was one of the leading scholars of the Arabic language and literature in the Indian subcontinent. Of Uyghur background,Kashgari migrated from East Turkestan to India at an early age,completing his studies in Lucknow where he became an accomplished Islamic scholar,linguist,poet and author. He then migrated to Bengal,where he eventually became the principal of Dhaka Alia Madrasa. Kashgari was also the first khatib of the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque,holding this role until his death.
