He was born in Khazana Peshawar. He belongs to Pushtoon. He hails from khazana village of Peshawar.He is famous for his gandageeri.
Shahid Khan completed Bachelor in Electronics Engineering from UET Peshawar (Abbottabad Campus). Unable to find job, he turned to Freelancing but did not work and eventually moved into the Pashto film industry and now at least earning more than an engineer.
Shahid Khan [6] has been acting in the Peshawar Film Industry of Pakistan since the 1990s and has contributed to various films of the industry. He and his brother Arshad Khan [7] produce and direct Pashto films as well. Khan has contributed to the Pashto film industry, headquartered in Peshawar, [8] [9] at a time of its revival in Pakistan.[ citation needed ]
Khan [10] has spoken of the importance of making Pashto films more suitable for city audiences, saying "We cannot limit our films to Pashtun culture as we have to exhibit them in other markets." [11]
In 2015, Khan was prevented from filming in the Hazara District due to government restrictions. Khan released a statement saying that there were only a handful of film makers left in the industry and that the government should support them rather than putting sanctions on them. [12]

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, commonly abbreviated as KP or KPK, is a province of Pakistan. Located in the northwestern region of the country, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is the fourth largest province of Pakistan by land area and the third-largest province by population. It is bordered by the Pakistani provinces of Balochistan to the south, Punjab to the south-east, the territory of Gilgit-Baltistan to the north and north-east, Islamabad Capital Territory to the east and Azad Kashmir to the north-east. Pashtunistan is a historical region located on the Iranian Plateau, inhabited by the indigenous Pashtun people of southern Afghanistan and northwestern Pakistan in South-Central Asia, wherein Pashtun culture, the Pashto language, and Pashtun identity have been based. Alternative names historically used for the region include Pashtūnkhwā (پښتونخوا), Pakhtūnistān, Pathānistān, or simply the Pashtun Belt. Pashtunistan borders the geographical regions of Turkestan to the north, Kashmir to the northeast, Punjab to the east, Balochistan to the south and Iran to the west.

Irfan Khan is a Pakistani Pashtun pop singer singing in both Pashto and Urdu. His claim to fame came with the release of a Pashto single "Pekhawar Khu Pekhawar De" which translates into "Peshawar Is Peshawar", a song he wrote in a tribute to his hometown. He recently recorded a single with Hadiqa Kiyani called "Jaanan". "Jaanan" was Irfan's title song from his Album by the same name. "Jaanan" proved to be a superhit song all over Pakistan in 2010. Hazarewal is term used for the multi-ethnic predominantly Hindko-speaking community belonging to the Hazara region of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Hindko speaking Hazarewals include the Swatis, Jadoons, Karlals, Abbasis, Sayyids, Awans, Mughals, Tanolis, Turks, Qureshis and Khokhars. A large number of Hindko speakers in Hazara Division are also Pashtuns. Majority of these Pashtuns speak Hindko as their mother tongue and do not speak the Pashto language anymore. These Hindko speaking Pashtun Hazarewals include the Tahirkhelis, Swatis, Yusufzais, Jadoons, Dilazaks and Tareens. The Hazarewal or Hindkowans, are not to be confused with the ethnic Hazara people inhabiting parts of Balochistan province in Pakistan or areas of neighbouring Afghanistan. The Hazarewals have, over the last few years, found themselves increasingly in favour of separation and autonomy from the rest of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on linguistic basis.
