Pashtuns, also known as Pakhtuns, or Pathans, are a nomadic, pastoral, Eastern Iranic ethnic group primarily residing in northwestern Pakistan and southern and eastern Afghanistan. They historically were also referred to as Afghans until the 1970s after the term's meaning had become a demonym for members of all ethnic groups in Afghanistan.
Pashtunistan is a region located on the Iranian Plateau, inhabited by the indigenous Pashtun people of Afghanistan and northwestern Pakistan, wherein Pashtun culture, the Pashto language, and Pashtun identity have been based. Alternative names historically used for the region include Pashtūnkhwā (پښتونخوا), Pakhtūnistān, Pathānistān, or simply the Pashtun Belt.

Hindkowans, also known as the Hindki, is a contemporary designation for speakers of Indo-Aryan languages who live among the neighbouring Pashtuns, particularly the speakers of various Hindko dialects of Western Punjabi (Lahnda). The origins of the term refer merely to the speakers of Indo-Aryan languages rather than to any particular ethnic group. Yousuf Khan Sher Bano was the first-ever Pashto film released in Pakistan. It was released on 1 December 1970. It was directed by Aziz Tabassum and produced by Nazir Hussain, with debut stars Yasmin Khan and Badar Munir.
Irfan Khan is a Pakistani Pashtun pop singer singing in both Pashto and Urdu. His claim to fame came with the release of a Pashto single "Pekhawar Khu Pekhawar De" which translates into "Peshawar Is Peshawar", a song he wrote in a tribute to his hometown. He recently recorded a single with Hadiqa Kiyani called "Jaanan". "Jaanan" was Irfan's title song from his Album by the same name. "Jaanan" proved to be a superhit song all over Pakistan in 2010. It even made it to the Los Angeles Times' "What they are..." section.
Waar is a 2013 Pakistani action-thriller film directed by Bilal Lashari, written by Hassan Rana, and produced by Syed Mujtaba Tirmizi. The film stars Shaan Shahid as Major Mujtaba Rizvi, a retired Pakistan Army Officer while Meesha Shafi, Ali Azmat, Shamoon Abbasi, Ayesha Khan, and Kamran Lashari star in supporting roles. The film follows Major Mujtaba Rizvi (Shahid), an officer, who returns from his retirement to save Pakistan from a major terrorist attack.
Reham Nayyar Khan is a British-Pakistani journalist, author, and filmmaker from Baffa, Pakistan. She is a former wife of Imran Khan, who later became Prime Minister of Pakistan in 2018, The publication of her memoir shortly before the 2018 Pakistani general election led to claims that its publication was intended to damage Imran Khan's electoral prospects. Khan married Mirza Bilal on 23 December 2022.
Na Maloom Afraad, is a 2014 Pakistani action comedy film co-written and directed by Nabeel Qureshi in his directorial debut. It stars Javed Sheikh, Fahad Mustafa, Mohsin Abbas Haider with supporting cast of Urwa Hocane, Kubra Khan and Salman Shahid. The story follows Shakeel (Sheikh), Farhaan (Mustafa) and Moon (Haider), three poor struggling individuals who chase every possible means of becoming rich, all getting into trouble as they struggle to fulfill their desires and ambitions through questionably moral ways.
Yalghaar is a 2017 Pakistani war-epic film directed by Hassan Rana. The film is produced by MindWorks Media and is based on the true story of Pakistan Army's Swat Operation. Yalghaar was facilitated by Brigadier Syed Mujtaba Tirmizi from Inter-Services Public Relations -ISPR.
Vasay Chaudhry is a Pakistani screenwriter, actor, director, producer, host, and comedian. He is best known for writing sitcoms and comedy-dramas for Pakistani televisions. He is also known for writing films. He wrote Main Hoon Shahid Afridi and Jawani Phir Nahi Ani. While Mai Hoon Shahid Afridi was an average success, Jawani phir Nahe ani went on to become the highest grossing film of Pakistan cinema and broke all the previous Box office records while earning more than 490 million at the box office. He also wrote Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2, which was released on 2018 Eid al-Adha and broke the all time biggest box office grosses record.It also went on to become the First Pakistani film to make 700 Million rupees worldwide. Chaudhry is also known for hosting the comedy show, Mazaaq Raat, on Dunya News since 2015.
Ismail Shahid is a Pakistani TV actor and comedian. He is known for his comic performances in the Pashto drama "Rang Pa Rang".
Pathans in India or simply known as Pathans are citizens or residents of India who are of ethnic Pashtun ancestry. "Pathan" is the local Hindavi term for an individual who belongs to the Pashtun ethnic group, or descends from it. The term additionally finds mention among Western sources, mainly in the colonial-era literature of British India. Historically, the term "Afghan" was also synonymous with the Pathans. The Pathans originate from the Eastern Afghanistan and Northwestern Pakistan regions, ethnolinguistically known as Pashtunistan.
Nisar Muhammad Khan was a Pakistani playwright, scriptwriter, broadcaster, and director of the Radio Pakistan. Besides contributing to Pashto language and culture, he is also credited for writing books, including Speen Tumbal on Pashto music and another one Aghosh-i-Kausar covers the life of Bilal ibn Rabah, a companion of Islamic prophet Muhammad.
Shamshad known by her alias Yasmeen Khan was a Pakistani actress. She was a popular actress who starred in many Pashto films. She was murdered on 15 April 1999.
