Shahram Izadi

Shahram Izadi is a British-Iranian computer scientist known for his contributions to extended reality, augmented reality, computer vision, human-computer interaction and artificial intelligence. [1] He is currently Vice President and General Manager of the extended reality and augmented reality division at Google, where he leads the Android XR effort. [2] [3] [4] In his recent TED talk, Izadi talked about the convergence of extended reality and AI, demoing Android XR glasses and headsets powered with Gemini. [5] [6]

Previously, Izadi worked at various companies including Microsoft Research, developing Kinect [7] , HoloLens [8] and Holoportation. [9] [10] [11] In 2009, he was named on MIT Technology Review's Innovators Under 35 (TR35) list for his work on augmented reality, natural user interfaces and surface computing. [12] He has authored approximately 170 publications and has over 40,000 citations for his academic work. [13] [14]
