The Shakey's V-League 9th Season Open Conference was the seventeenth conference of the Shakey's V-League of volleyball in the Philippines. It commenced on August 19, 2012, at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium in Manila with four commercial clubs joining regular league teams Ateneo de Manila University and Far Eastern University. [1]

The Premier Volleyball League (PVL) is a women's professional volleyball league in the Philippines organized by Sports Vision Management Group, Inc. The league began in 2004 as the Shakey's V-League, a women's collegiate league. Since 2011, the league became open to participation of corporate clubs and other non-collegiate teams.
The rivalry between the De La Salle University (DLSU) Green Archers and the University of Santo Tomas (UST) Growling Tigers is contested at the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP). Although the men's basketball rivalry had died down after the 1990s, it returned in 2013 as both schools again met in the UAAP basketball championship series. The rivalry had also been apparent in women's volleyball where the two teams are frequent finalists in the UAAP Volleyball Championship and the Shakey's V-League.
Alyssa Caymo Valdez is a Filipino volleyball player who currently plays for the Creamline Cool Smashers. She was a member of the collegiate varsity women's volleyball team of Ateneo de Manila University in both indoor and beach volleyball. She was most outstanding as an indoor volleyball player where she brought multiple championship titles and a lot of honor for the university. She is a current member of Philippines national team. Her global recognition paved the way for her to play in other countries like Thailand for 3BB Nakornnont and Taiwan for Attack Line Volleyball Club.

The 2015 Spikers' Turf season was the inaugural season of the men's volleyball league Spikers' Turf, the counterpart of the women's Shakey's V-League. In 2014, the Shakey's V-League introduced a men's division during its 21st conference. The following year, Sports Vision, the organizers of the Shakey's V-League decided to spin-off the men's vision as a separate tournament, giving birth to the Spikers' Turf.
Myla Pablo is a Filipino volleyball player. She was part of the Philippines women's national volleyball team in 2015.
The Shakey's V-League 13th Season Collegiate Conference is the 26th conference of the Shakey's V-League and the second conference for its 13th season. The conference was started on July 30, 2016 at the Ynares Sports Arena with the first two games of the conference. Majority of the games will be held at the Philsports Arena, Pasig.

The 2018 Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference was the fourth conference of the Premier Volleyball League. Conference will start on April 27, 2018 with a Grand Fans Day at the Trinoma Activity Center, Quezon City, 9 days before its opening ceremonies and games on May 6, 2018 at the Filoil Flying V Centre, San Juan City, Philippines. PLDT returns as PayMaya after two years of absence in the league and newcomer teams, Tacloban Fighting Warays and Petro Gazz Angels are expected to join the league.
Teams will play a single round robin in the preliminary round. The top two teams after the preliminary round will automatically enter the semifinals round. The bottom teams after the preliminary round will play a single round robin to determine the two teams that will advance to the semifinals round.
The 2011 UST Growling Tigers men's basketball team represented University of Santo Tomas in the 74th season of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines. The men's basketball tournament for the school year 2011-12 began on July 10, 2011 and the host school for the season was Ateneo de Manila University.
The 2022 Spikers' Turf Open Conference was the fifteenth conference of the Spikers' Turf. The tournament were held at Paco Arena, Manila from 30 August to 6 October 2022 with a total of seven teams.

The 2023 Premier Volleyball League First All-Filipino Conference was the fourteenth conference of the Premier Volleyball League and its fifth conference as a professional league. The tournament began on February 4, 2023, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, Quezon City.
The 2023 V-League Collegiate Challenge is the second conference of the V-League. The tournament starts on August 16, 2023, at the Paco Arena in Manila, with both divisions having 8 competing teams.
