Shane Drahm (born 29 August 1977) is an Australian former rugby union player of Aboriginal descent. [1] His usual positions were fly-half or fullback. Drahm played for Queensland in Super Rugby and Australia in rugby sevens, but went on to represent England in test rugby and played most of his professional rugby career in that country. He is the current head coach of the First XV at Brisbane Boys College.
Drahm made his Super Rugby debut in 1997 for the Queensland Reds. He played four seasons in Brisbane before moving to England in 2001, playing for Bristol then Northampton. He joined Worcester Warriors in the summer of 2005, [2] [3] and was an integral part of the team. He racked up a number of kicking records in the Guinness Premiership. Drahm qualified to represent England on residency grounds and was capped twice in 2006.
Drahm moved to Japan in 2008 and played the last three seasons of his career with Kubota Spears. He returned to Brisbane in 2011.
Drahm worked briefly in sports management before taking on assistant coaching positions in Premier Rugby; firstly at Brothers and then the GPS club in Brisbane. He went on to become the interim head coach of the GPS Premier Grade team during the 2014 season
Drahm has also coached schoolboy rugby at Nudgee College and Brisbane Boys College. [4]
He was the director of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies Unit at the University of Queensland in 2015. [1] Drahm plays golf at Keperra Country Golf Club in Queensland and is a scratch golfer under the GA handicap system. [5] [6]
Torres Strait Islanders are the Indigenous Melanesian people of the Torres Strait Islands, which are part of the state of Queensland, Australia. Ethnically distinct from the Aboriginal peoples of the rest of Australia, they are often grouped with them as Indigenous Australians. Today there are many more Torres Strait Islander people living in mainland Australia than on the Islands.

Michael Patrick Thomas Lynagh, is an Australian former rugby union player who played mainly as a fly-half. Lynagh represented Australia from 1984 to 1995, playing at both inside centre and fly half. Lynagh was capped 72 times for Australia, and was captain from 1993 to 1995. He was the world points scoring record holder when he retired, with 911 points.
Pat Sanderson is a former England international rugby union player and a former flanker for Worcester. He is the brother of the former England player Alex Sanderson. His early rugby union career blossomed at Bury Grammar School, Littleborough RUFC and then at Kirkham Grammar School and included his first international cap for the England 16 Group Schools team. He joined Manchester Sale in 1996 and was capped by England U21s and England A. He moved to Harlequins where he played in the 2001 Powergen Cup final, when Quins lost to Newcastle by 30–27.
Gorden James Tallis, also known by the nickname of "Raging Bull" for his on-field aggression, is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1990s and 2000s. A Queensland State of Origin and Australian international representative second-row forward, he captained both these teams as well as the Brisbane Broncos with whom he won the 1997, 1998 and 2000 Grand Finals, after starting his career with the St. George Dragons in Sydney. At the peak of his career Tallis was considered as the best second-row forward in the world and in 2008 was named in an Indigenous Australian rugby league team of the century. He is currently a commentator and pundit for the Fox Sports network. He served as a National Rugby League board member and was a member of the board of directors for the North Queensland Cowboys. Tallis also worked on the coaching staff of the South Sydney Rabbitohs.
Samuel Arthur Thaiday is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer who played for the Brisbane Broncos in the National Rugby League, serving as their captain from 2012 until 2013. An Australian international and Queensland State of Origin representative second-row, he could also play prop and lock as well as hooker and spent all of his career at the Broncos, with whom he won the 2006 premiership. In 2008, Australia's centenary of rugby league and Thaiday's sixth year at the top level, he was one of only three current players to be named in the Indigenous Australian rugby league team of the century. On 6 July 2018, Thaiday announced his intention to retire from the NRL at the end of the 2018 season. He currently plays for the Samford Stags in the Brisbane open men’s division 2 competition.
