Shanika Karunasekera is a Professor in the School of Computing and Information Systems at the University of Melbourne. [1] Dr. Karunasekera completed her Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Cambridge, UK in 1995. Earlier she completed her B.Sc. in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering at the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka.

"The Open University of Sri Lanka" is a national university in Sri Lanka. It is unique within the Sri Lankan national university system for being the only university to offer programs of study leading to certificate, diploma, degrees and postgraduate degrees up to PhD level through the Open and Distance Mode of Learning (ODL). Upatissa Atapattu Bandaranayake Wasala Mudiyanse Ralahamilage Shirani Anshumala Bandaranayake served as the 43rd Chief Justice of Sri Lanka. Although a qualified lawyer, she has never practiced law. After university Bandaranayake entered academia, holding a number of senior positions at the University of Colombo, including Associate Professor of Law and the Dean of the Faculty of Law at the University of Colombo. She was first appointed to the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka in 1996, becoming Sri Lanka's first female Supreme Court Judge. Bandaranayake was appointed chief justice in May 2011 following the mandatory retirement of Asoka de Silva. Bandaranayake was controversially impeached by Parliament and then removed from office by President Mahinda Rajapaksa in January 2013. and on 28 January 2015 the government of Sri Lanka, had removed all obstacles for Bandaranayake to hold her position as the 43rd Chief Justice by the President Maithripala Sirisena, on the ground that her 2013 impeachment was unlawful and as such the appointment of Mohan Peiris, her successor, was void Ab initio. This paved the way for Bandaranayake to resume duties on 28 January 2015. She retired from the position just after one day of her reappointment on 29 January 2015 claiming support for a free and fair Judiciary in Sri Lanka.

Nalaka Godahewa, MP, is a Sri Lankan politician and former corporate executive. Currently the State Minister of Urban Development, Coast Conservation, Waste Disposal and Community Cleanliness; and member of parliament for the Gampaha District. He had served as the Chairman, Securities Exchange Commission ; Chairman, Sri Lanka Tourism (2010–2012); and Managing Director, Sri Lanka Insurance (2006–2009).
Herath Mudiyanselage Charitha Herath is current member of Parliament from National List, Chairman of the Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE). and the Professor of Philosophy at the University of Peradeniya. His appointment was valid from 21 June 2019. Chair Professorship of Philosophy at Peradeniya has been one of the well established academic position. He is the former Permanent secretary of the Ministry of Mass Media and Information in Sri Lanka and former Chairman of the Central Environment Authority. Herath's academic interests are mainly based on Contemporary Analytical Philosophy and his researches were on Later Wittgenstein's Philosophy and the Environmental Ethics. He was the Head of the Department of Philosophy at the University of Peradeniya from 2016 to 2018.
P. H. D. Waidyatilleka is a well known sports administrator and a Civil engineer. He is the first Sri Lankan to be appointed as an International Technical Officer (ITO) by International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF), and the only Sri Lankan to qualify as an IAAF Lecturer.
Ocean University of Sri Lanka was established in 2014 by an act passed by the Parliament of Sri Lanka. It was earlier called the National Institute of Fisheries and Nautical Engineering. In addition, Wijay is the current President of LeoMed LLC, a medical device company. Wijay is an expert in innovative cardiovascular.
Deshamanya Vajira Chitrasena is a veteran Sri Lankan traditional dancer, choreographer and teacher. Vajira is regarded as Sri Lanka's first prima ballerina. She is the first Sri Lankan woman to practice the traditional Kandyan dance which was traditionally performed only by men. Vajira is credited for creating brand for female style of Kandyan dancing and set the tone for women to become ritual dancers. She was married to Chitrasena who was a well known legendary dancer and dance guru. On 26 January 2020, she along with late professor Indra Dassanayake was conferred with the Padma Shri award which is one of the highest Indian civilian awards coinciding with the 71st Republic Day of India.
Harini Amarasuriya is a Sri Lankan academic, rights activist, university lecturer and politician who also served as a senior lecturer at the Department of Social Studies of the Open University of Sri Lanka. She currently represents the National People's Power party since 2019. Harini is well known for her researches on pressing issues such as youth unemployment, gender inequality, child protection and inefficiencies in Sri Lankan education system. She also currently runs works as a member of the Board of Directors of a Sri Lankan local NGO called, Nest.
