Pamarthy Shankar is an artist, caricaturist and cartoonist from Hyderabad, India. He is currently working as chief cartoonist for Sakshi , a daily newspaper in Hyderabad published in Telugu. [1]
He has won several national and international prizes in cartoon and caricature contents both nationally and internationally, such as the Grand Prix World Press Cartoon Award 2014 in Portugal. [2] [3] [4] He is the first person in Asia to receive such prestigious award. He is the only person in India who got many International Awards in Cartoon and Caricature contests. He is also invited as Jury for several international and national competitions. The uniqueness of his cartoons and caricatures is not in drawing the attention of viewers by nagging or mocking but instead through charm and exaggeration of the subject persons prominent features. André Pijet is a Polish-Canadian editorial cartoonist whose satirical and humorous works have been published in Poland, Greece, Belgium, France, Great Britain, Italy, Turkey, the United States and Canada. In Quebec, he made a name for himself with a series of cartoons related to the 1992-93 hockey playoffs which he produced for a major Montreal daily newspaper.
Meka Srikanth is an Indian actor who is known for works predominantly in Telugu cinema. He has appeared in more than 120 films. The actor has received one state Nandi Award, and one Filmfare Award South. He has starred in films like Swarabhishekam, which won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Telugu for 2004. Srikanth's another film Virodhi premiered at the Indian panorama section, at the 2011 International Film Festival of India. Sri Rama Rajyam also had a special screening at International Film Festival of India on 28 November 2011. He has also appeared in some other language films including Kannada, Malayalam and Tamil films.
International Holocaust Cartoon Contest was a 2006 cartoon competition sponsored by the Iranian newspaper Hamshahri, to denounce what it called "Western hypocrisy on freedom of speech". The event was staged in response to the Jyllands-Posten Muhammad cartoons controversy. Several public figures, including the United States State Department, the Israeli Foreign Ministry, and United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan strongly criticized the contest.
Kesava Shankar Pillai, better known as Shankar, was an Indian cartoonist. He is considered the father of political cartooning in India. He founded Shankar's Weekly, India's Punch in 1948. Shankar's Weekly also produced cartoonists like Abu Abraham, Ranga and Kutty, he closed down the magazine during the Emergency of 25 June 1975. From then on he turned to making children laugh and enjoy life.

Houmayoun Mahmoudi / Homayoun Mahmoudi, born 1966 in Tehran, is an Iranian/British cartoonist, graphic artist and designer. He studied graphic design at the University of Tehran and graduated in animation from Tarbiat Modares University. Skilled in his own style of minimal cartoon, he has his own technique of working on sandpapers. Mahmoudi is married to Nooshin Moradi, a fashion artist, and moved to the United Kingdom in 2004 and worked as a freelance designer and international artist. He is currently doing PhD research in art and design at Manchester Metropolitan University. He has won numerous international cartoon contests around the world since 1994 and his artworks are exhibited in modern art exhibitions globally. In 1998 Graphis magazine interviewed Houmayoun and published his artworks and between 1999 and 2006 he was working with the Ritzenhoff Design company as a member of their artist team.

World Press Cartoon is an independent organization based in Lisbon, Portugal. Founded in 2005 the organization is known for holding one of the world's largest and most prestigious annual press cartoon contests. World Press Cartoon has also organized separate exhibitions under thematic criteria, as gender violence or environment protection. In 2018 World Press Cartoon had its 13th edition.
