Ekushey Padak Second highest civilian award in Bangladesh

Ekushey Padak is the second highest civilian award in Bangladesh, introduced in memory of the martyrs of the Bengali Language Movement of 1952. The award is given to recognize contributions in a number of fields, including culture, education, and economics. The Ministry of Cultural Affairs administers the award.

Fakir Alamgir

Fakir Alamgir is a Bangladeshi folk and pop singer. After the Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971, he emerged as a Gono Sangeet singer. Her siblings are Farida Yasmin, Fauzia Yasmin, Nazma Yasmin, and Sabina Yasmin. She was awarded Ekushey Padak in 2004 by the Government of Bangladesh. She won Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Female Playback Singer for her performance in the film Shuvoda (1986).
