Shannon Flockhart (born 5 April 2002) is a British middle distance runner. [1]

Early life

From Cambridge, in 2016 she won school middle distance titles in Cambridgeshire and East Anglia. [2] That year, she also finished in the top 10 of the English schools cross-country championships in her age group. [3] She went on to win the senior girls title at the Cambridgeshire schools cross country championships in January 2020 before placing fourth in the senior girls English cross country championship in March 2020 in Liverpool. [4] [5]

Career

She is a member of Cambridge & Coleridge Athletic Club. [6] She was a bronze medalist in the 1500 metres at the 2023 European Athletics U23 Championships in Espoo. [7] [8]

In June 2024, she placed sixth overall in the 1500 metres at the NCAA Division 1 Finals in Eugene, Oregon, competing for Providence College. [9]

In November 2024, she was named by British Athletics on the Olympic Futures Programme for 2025. [10] On 23 November 2024, she was part of the Providence team which finished third in the 2024 NCAA Division I Cross Country Championships. [11]

Personal life

 [12]  In 2024 she completed an undergraduate degree in Political Science at Providence College in Rhode Island before starting a Masters in Education at the establishment. [13]

Emily Sisson is an American long-distance runner. She set the North American record in the marathon on October 9, 2022, when she ran 2:18:29 to finish second at the Chicago Marathon. Sisson also held the American record in the half marathon from May 2022 until July 2023. She represented the United States in the 10000 metres at the 2017 and 2019 World Athletics Championships, finishing 9th and 10th. In June 2021, she won the 10000m at the 2020 US Olympic Trials and placed 10th in the 10000m final at the 2020 Summer Olympics. In 2024, she placed second in the marathon at the US Olympic Trials, qualifying for the 2024 Summer Olympics. She competed in the 2024 Paris Olympics Women's marathon on 11 August 2024, where she finished 23rd.

Sophie O'Sullivan is an Irish athlete. She won a silver medal in the 800 metres at the 2018 European Athletics U18 Championships in Győr, Hungary. O'Sullivan won 1500 metres gold at the 2023 European Athletics U23 Championships in Espoo, Finland.
