Shaquille Quarterman (born October 28, 1997) is an American professional football linebacker for the Los Angeles Chargers of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Miami (FL).
Quarterman grew up in Orange Park, Florida and attended Oakleaf High School. He posted 137 tackles, 8 tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks for the Knights in his junior season. [1] He was rated four-stars and as one of the top 10 inside linebacker recruits in the nation by ESPN , Scout.com , Rivals.com and 247Sports and committed to play college football at the University of Miami during his junior year. [2] As a senior, Quarterman made 101 tackles and was named the Regional Defensive Player of the Year by The Florida Times-Union and played in the All-America Bowl after the end of the season. [3] He finished his high school career with 412 tackles (23.5 for loss) and six sacks. [4]
Quarterman enrolled early at Miami and was named a starter at inside linebacker for the Hurricanes going into his freshman season. He started all 13 Miami's games and finished second on the team with 84 tackles, with 10 going for a loss, and three sacks and was named was named third-team All-Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) by the league's coaches and honorable mention by the media. Quarterman was also named a freshman All-American by ESPN and Pro Football Focus. [5] As a sophomore, Quarterman was named second-team All-ACC after again finishing second on the team in tackles with 83 with seven tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks with five passes broken up. [6] He was named first-team All-ACC in his junior season after recording 82 tackles, 14 tackles for loss, six sacks, one interception, two pass breakups, six quarterback hurries, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. [7] Following the season, Quarterman contemplated forgoing his final season of NCAA eligibility to enter the 2019 NFL draft but ultimately decided to return to Miami for his senior year. [8]
Quarterman was named a preseason All-American by the Associated Press and several other media outlets, as well as to the watchlists for the Butkus and Chuck Bednarik Awards, going into his senior season. [9] [10] Quarterman finished the season with 107 tackles, 15.5 tackles for loss, one sack, and one forced fumble and was again named first-team All-ACC. [11]

Quarterman was selected in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL draft by the Jacksonville Jaguars. [13] Quarterman made his NFL debut on September 13, 2020, in the season opener against the Indianapolis Colts, playing on special teams. [14] He was placed on injured reserve on November 7, 2020. [15] He was activated on December 5, 2020. [16]
On August 5, 2024, Quarterman signed with the Philadelphia Eagles, but was waived six days later. [17] [18]
On August 12, 2024, Quarterman signed with the Los Angeles Chargers. [19] He was released on August 27, and re-signed to the practice squad. [20] [21] He was released on October 9.
On October 15, 2024, Quarterman signed with the Carolina Panthers practice squad. [22] He was released on October 29.
On November 6, 2024, Quarterman was signed to the Los Angeles Chargers practice squad. He was signed to the active roster on November 16. [23]
Marco Darnell Coleman is an American football coach and former player who is the defensive line coach for Georgia Tech and former assistant defensive line coach for the Oakland Raiders of the National Football League (NFL). A former American football defensive end, the fourteen-year veteran originally was drafted by the Miami Dolphins in the 1992 NFL draft as a first round pick. He played at Georgia Tech and won the 1990 college football national championship and went to one Pro Bowl before retiring from professional football after the 2005 season.
Roger A. "Rocky" McIntosh Jr. is an American former professional football player who was a linebacker in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Miami Hurricanes and was selected in the second round of the 2006 NFL draft by the Washington Redskins.
Arthur Brown Jr. is an American former professional football player who was a linebacker in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Kansas State Wildcats, earning All-American honors. Brown was selected by the Baltimore Ravens in the second round of the 2013 NFL draft. He was also a member of the Jacksonville Jaguars, New York Jets, Seattle Seahawks, and San Antonio Commanders.
Justin Donovan Houston is an American professional football linebacker. He has also played for the Buffalo Bills, where he made the Pro Bowl, Washington Redskins, Philadelphia Eagles, and Arizona Cardinals.

He played college football at the Miami Hurricanes. He was selected by the Miami Dolphins in the third round of the 2012 NFL draft and also played for the New York Giants and the Cleveland Browns.
Shaquille Green Thompson is an American professional football linebacker for the Carolina Panthers of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Washington Huskies, earning first-team All-American honors in 2014. He also had a short stint playing baseball with the Boston Red Sox organization as part of their rookie team in the Gulf Coast League. Since being drafted he has played a hybrid safety and linebacker position for the Panthers, also known as "the Big Nickel".
Kyle Van Noy is an American professional football linebacker for the Baltimore Ravens of the National Football League (NFL). Van Noy played college football at BYU. He was selected in the second round of the 2014 NFL draft by the Detroit Lions, with whom he spent his first three seasons. Van Noy played his next four seasons for the New England Patriots, where he won Super Bowl LI and Super Bowl LIII. Following a year as a member of the Miami Dolphins, he rejoined New England in 2021. Van Noy signed with the Los Angeles Chargers the following season.

Myles David Jack is an American professional football linebacker. He played college football for the UCLA Bruins and was named the top freshman player in the Pac-12, receiving honors both on defense as well as on offense for his work as a running back and was named an All-Pac-12 linebacker twice. In 2015, Jack dropped out of UCLA and declared for the draft after suffering a season-ending knee injury. Jack was selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the second round of the 2016 NFL draft. Along with his mother LaSonjia Jack, he is the current owner of the ECHL Allen Americans.
Shaquil Akeem Barrett is an American professional football linebacker for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Nebraska–Omaha Mavericks before transferring to the Colorado State Rams. Barrett was signed by the Denver Broncos as an undrafted free agent after the 2014 NFL draft. After five seasons with the Broncos, including winning Super Bowl 50, he signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Barrett's level of play increased, making the Pro Bowl and All-Pro teams in 2019 after leading the league in sacks, and in 2021 won Super Bowl LV, recording a sack in the game. He signed with the Miami Dolphins in 2024 before retiring from football shortly after.
Shaquille Lawson is an American professional football linebacker. He played college football for the Clemson Tigers, and was selected by the Buffalo Bills in the first round of the 2016 NFL draft. Lawson has been on the Miami Dolphins, Houston Texans and was traded to the New York Jets during the 2021 season. Lawson was released by the Jets prior to their season finale and returned to the Bills the following offseason.
Yannick Ngakoue is an American professional football linebacker who last played for the New England Patriots of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Maryland Terrapins and was selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the third round of the 2016 NFL draft. He spent two stints with the Baltimore Ravens and has also played one season each for the Minnesota Vikings, Las Vegas Raiders, Indianapolis Colts, and Chicago Bears.

In his rookie season, Leonard led the league in tackles and was named a First-Team All-Pro and Defensive Rookie of the Year; he was also voted into the NFL Top 100 the following offseason. Leonard has been informally nicknamed "Maniac" due to his energetic and productive on-field play.
Frankie Luvu is an American professional football linebacker for the Washington Commanders of the National Football League (NFL). A native of American Samoa, he played college football for the Washington State Cougars before signing with the New York Jets as an undrafted free agent in 2018. Luvu has also played for the Carolina Panthers. He earned second-team All-Pro honors with the Commanders in 2024.
