Sharadamma Ramanjaneya was the 45th Mayor of Bangalore (Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike). She was also the fifth woman mayor of the city. She became a mayor in 2011. [1] [2] [3]
In 2011,Sharadamma contested in the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) election as a candidate of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from Shettihalli. [4] After winning in the election she became a mayor of the city and S Harish became the deputy mayor. Her term ended in 2012. [2] [1]
Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) is the administrative body responsible for civic amenities and some infrastructural assets of the Greater Bengaluru metropolitan area. It is the fourth largest Municipal Corporation in India and is responsible for a population of 8.4 million in an area of 741 km2. Its boundaries have expanded more than 10 times over the last six decades.
