Sharon Beverly is the vice president of athletics and recreation at the University of Hartford. [1] [2] Beverly was also a former professional basketball player in France and the United States. [3] [4]
In 2010, Beverly earned her doctorate degree in Leadership for Higher Education. [4] [5] Her dissertation was about why few female athletes ended up becoming coaches. Some of the reasons women gave for not pursuing a career in coaching were perceived poor pay and a lack of visible women in those positions. [5]
Beverly played basketball while an undergraduate at Queens College, playing with the team in the first women’s basketball game to be held at Madison Square Garden before graduating in 1979. [4] [6] After college, Beverly played professionally in France and for the New Jersey Gems, a team in the Women’s Professional Basketball League (WBL). [4] [7]
Beverly went on to become an assistant coach at Queens College before becoming head coach of the Fairleigh Dickinson women’s basketball team. [2] [8] She later coached for the New Jersey Institute of Technology, before becoming Associate Athletics Director and later director of athletics and physical education at Vassar College. [4] [6] In 2010, she was named Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference Woman Administrator of the Year. [3] [7]

Robert F. Casciola is an American former college football coach, National Basketball Association executive, banking executive, and broadcaster. He was the head coach at the University of Connecticut from 1971 to 1972 and at Princeton University from 1973 to 1977. He held assistant coaching positions at Princeton and, Dartmouth College. Casciola served as an executive vice president and the chief operating officer for the New Jersey Nets of the NBA from 1987 to 1991. He joined the National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame in 1991 as executive director. He became president in 1996, serving in the role until his retirement in 2005. He played college football at Princeton as a tackle.

Lucille Kyvallos is a former women's collegiate basketball coach. Kyvallos coached the Queens College women's basketball team from 1968 through 1981. She is a member of the New York City Basketball Hall of Fame. She served as chair for the Association for Intercollegiate Athletics for Women (AIAW)'s basketball committee and tournament director for the AIAW national championship in 1973. She coached the first women's college basketball game to be played at Madison Square Garden on February 22, 1975. Kyvallos, an advocate for women's sports, wrote: "Women who achieve in sport add a new dimension to the role of women in American society."
