The Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award recognizes U.S. organizations in the business, health care, education, and nonprofit sectors for performance excellence. The Baldrige Award is the highest formal recognition of the performance excellence of both public and private U.S. organizations given by the President of the United States. It is administered by the Baldrige Performance Excellence Program, which is based at and managed by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), an agency of the U.S. Department of Commerce.
UC San Diego Health is the academic health system of the University of California, San Diego in San Diego, California. It is the only academic health system serving San Diego and has one of only two adult Level I trauma centers in the region. In operation since 1966, it comprises UC San Diego Medical Center in Hillcrest as well as Jacobs Medical Center, Moores Cancer Center, Shiley Eye Institute, Sulpizio Cardiovascular Center, and Koman Family Outpatient Pavilion, all located in La Jolla. It also includes several outpatient sites located throughout San Diego County. The health system works closely with the university's School of Medicine and Skaggs School of Pharmacy to provide training to medical and pharmacy students and advanced clinical care to patients.
UCHealth Poudre Valley Hospital (PVH), located in Fort Collins, Colorado, is part of UCHealth and serves northern Colorado, southern Wyoming, and western Nebraska. The hospital has 270 beds, and is a level III trauma center. It also houses 11 surgical suites, 12 intensive care unit beds, and a level III neonatal intensive care unit. The hospital is home to a regional orthopedic program, and many cancer treatment and rehabilitation services as well. The hospital has helped make Fort Collins a regional health center, and continues to do so, despite the 2007 opening of its sister hospital Medical Center of the Rockies in nearby Loveland.

Typically, patients in this age range will be in the last years of middle school up until college graduation. In developed nations, the psychosocial period of adolescence is extended both by an earlier start, as the onset of puberty begins earlier, and a later end, as patients require more years of education or training before they reach economic independence from their parents.

Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento (SMCS) is a medical center in Sacramento, California, that has been named one of the Top 100 Hospitals in the US for five years, including 2013–2015. It is owned and operated by Sutter Health, a Northern California not-for-profit health system. The center offers both community-based and tertiary medical services. In 2015, the center consolidated its Sutter Memorial Hospital campus in East Sacramento with its midtown Sutter General Hospital location, with the opening of the Anderson Lucchetti Women's and Children's Center and the complete remodeling of Sutter General Hospital into the Ose Adams Medical Pavilion. The midtown location is where Sutter Health's first hospital, Sutter Hospital, opened in 1923. The center also includes Sutter Center for Psychiatry, providing psychiatric, mental health and chemical dependency services since 1958.

Barry Keith Herman, M.D., M.M.M., CPE, DLFAPA, DLFAACAP, FACPE is an American board certified adult and child and adolescent psychiatrist, psychiatric administrator, and physician executive. He currently is Chief Medical Officer of Atentiv Health, a digital health specialty provider, since March, 2020. Immediately prior, he was Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer of Tris Pharmaceuticals, Inc. in Monmouth Junction, NJ. He left this position at Tris in January 2020. Herman's interests include psychiatric administration and management, healthcare policy, and psychopharmacological research. He has spoken and written frequently on the topic of physician leadership and management. He is the author of over 100 scientific abstracts and manuscripts, and is frequently quoted in the media. His psychiatric research has been widely cited. Herman is the Past President of the American Association of Psychiatric Administrators (now called the American Association for Psychiatric Administration and Leadership, and currently serves on its Executive Council. He is the recipient of the 2017 American Psychiatric Association Administrative Psychiatry Award.
