Sharyn Hodgson (born 25 August 1968) is an Australian former actress, best known as an original character in TV serial Home and Away playing troubled teenager Carly Morris (later Luccini), she has subsequently returned to the role guest appearances reprising the part until 2008.
Hodgson was born in Sydney and attended drama school with the Phillip Street Drama School when she was 15. She spent four years studying there on Saturday mornings, which led to work with the Film and Television School appearing in films for students.
Hodgson had a guest role in TV serial A Country Practice in 1987, before auditioning for Home and Away the Seven Network's fledgling soap opera in that year. She was successfully cast and became one of the sixteen original characters, appearing from the pilot episode which initially aired in January 1988. She played troubled teenager Carly Morris, during her time on the show, Hodgson's character weathered rape, alcoholism, and an array of relationship and family problems, which were all chronicled with a tie-in novel, Sharyn also portrayed Carly's twin sister Samantha Morris.
Carly eventually finds love with Army soldier Ben Lucini portrayed by (Julian McMahon) in 1991, and leaves Summer Bay the same year to begin a family elsewhere.
Following this, Hodgson was one of several Home and Away cast members to star in a stage musical based on the soap, which toured the UK in 1991. Julian McMahon, Justine Clarke, Mouche Phillips and Adam Willits also starred. [2]
Since her initial on-screen departure, Hodgson has made numerous brief returns to Home and Away to visit her foster family or attend important events in the bay. Hodgson was last seen on-screen as Carly in 2008. She returned briefly for the departure of one of the original character, her foster sister Sally Fletcher (Kate Ritchie).
Hodgson has post-Home and Away appeared in episodes of Blue Heelers , Frank Sidebottom's Fantastic Shed Show (1992), Police Rescue (1995), Wildside (1998) and Big Sky playing Jodie Turner (1997–99).
Hodgson decided to quit acting to become a mother. She works as a natural therapist and childcare worker, having fostered children of her own. [3]

Julian Dana William McMahon is an Australian actor. He is the only son of Sir William McMahon, a former Prime Minister of Australia. He is best known for his roles as Ben Lucini in Home and Away, Detective John Grant in Profiler, Cole Turner in Charmed, Christian Troy in Nip/Tuck, Doctor Doom in the Fantastic Four duology, Jonah in Runaways, and Jess LaCroix in CBS crime drama FBI: Most Wanted. For his performance in Nip/Tuck, McMahon was nominated for the Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Television Drama Series.
Adam Charles Willits is an Australian former actor, best known for being an original cast member of the television soap opera Home and Away as foster child Steven Matheson from 1988 to 1991. In 1995, Willits returned to the show as a regular and a love interest for the character of Selina Roberts, portrayed by Tempany Deckert and remained until late 1996 as well as returning for guest stints in 1997, 1998, 2000, 2002, 2003 and the last time in 2008.

Carly Lucini is a fictional character from the Australian soap opera Home and Away, played by actress Sharyn Hodgson. She was one of the soap's original female protagonists, appearing as one of the Fletchers' foster children in the pilot episode on 17 January 1988. The soap's primary focus was placed upon the Fletchers and their gang of foster children, moving as outsiders to a caravan park in the seaside town of Summer Bay. Carly remained in the serial as a regular character until 1991, covering issues such as rape, alcoholism and child abuse, as well as a problematic marriage to soldier Ben Lucini, played by actor Julian McMahon. Hodgson has made numerous guest appearances since her exit.

Collingwood revealed that she often pitched storylines for Colleen in the hope they would play out on-screen. Collingwood decided to leave the series in January 2012 and Colleen departed on 23 May 2012. She made a brief return from 27 November 2012 and officially departed on 24 January 2013.
Benito "Ben" Lucini is a fictional character from the Australian television soap opera Home and Away, played by Julian McMahon. The character made his first screen appearance on 27 February 1990. McMahon wanted to appear in another prime-time soap opera having previously appeared in The Power, The Passion and had to audition for the role of Ben four times. Ben was introduced as a new love interest of established character Carly Morris. The show's producer, Andrew Howie, had already planned their wedding before Ben had debuted on-screen.

Grant Mitchell is a fictional character from the Australian Channel Seven soap opera Home and Away, played by Craig McLachlan. Grant debuted on-screen during the episode airing on 9 February 1990. McLachlan had previously appeared on rival soap opera Neighbours playing Henry Ramsay. When his contract was due to be renewed, the Seven Network offered him a more flexible contract to appear in Home and Away, which McLachlan signed. Grant arrives in Summer Bay as a new teacher starting work at the local school. Grant is described as a likeable teacher with a good rapport with his pupils. Frank Jonathan Morgan is a fictional character from the Australian Channel Seven soap opera Home and Away, played by Alex Papps. Frank debuted on-screen in the serial's pilot episode and was the first character to appear. Frank is one of the five foster children of Pippa and Tom Fletcher who move to Summer Bay to begin a new life. The serial's creator Alan Bateman thought of the idea while observing the locals of a rural town in New South Wales opposing the idea of foster children living in the area. Papps was cast into the role and immediately began receiving fan mail. Frank has been played by actors Bradley Pilato and Michael Scilusa during flashback sequences.
