Shaun McKeown

Shaun McKeown (born 2 March 1980) is a Paralympic track and road cyclist for Great Britain. Shaun won silver in the men's individual pursuit at the London 2012 Paralympic Games. [1]

Timothy "Tim" Shaun Matthews, OAM is an Australian Paralympic athlete. He was born in the Victorian town of Orbost with exomphalos, a condition in which the abdomen develops outside the body; in his case, the condition affected other organs, including his liver. he was also born without a left arm and with some webbed fingers. He spent much of his early life at Melbourne's Royal Children's Hospital because the membrane protecting his exposed organs ruptured when he was two days old.

Ben Demery is an Australian Paralympic tandem cyclist with a vision impairment. He comes from the New South Wales city of Newcastle. His pilot throughout his career has been Shaun Hopkins. He started competitive cycling in December 2005 and won a silver medal in the sprint and a bronze medal in the 1 km time trial at his first international competition, the 2006 IPC Cycling World Championships; that year he was named Lake Macquarie’s Sports Person of the Year. In the next year's UCI Para-cycling Track World Championships, he won silver medals in both the sprint and the 1 km time trial. At the 2008 Beijing Games, he won two silver medals in the Men's Sprint B VI 1–3 and Men's 1 km Time Trial B VI 1–3 events.

Shaun Hopkins is an Australian cyclist, who piloted vision impaired tandem cyclist Ben Demery throughout his career. His father and relatives of his mother were competitive cyclists. He began competitive cycling in 1985 and his first national competition was in 1995. He won a silver medal in the sprint and a bronze medal in the 1 km time trial at his first international competition, the 2006 IPC Cycling World Championships. In the next year's UCI Para-cycling Track World Championships, he won silver medals in both the sprint and the 1 km time trial. At the 2008 Beijing Games, he won two silver medals in the Men's Sprint B VI 1–3 and Men's 1 km Time Trial B VI 1–3 events.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">South Africa at the 2020 Summer Paralympics</span> Sporting event delegation

South Africa competed at the 2020 Summer Paralympics in Tokyo, Japan, from 24 August to 5 September 2021. The team of 34 athletes competing in seven sports was announced on 14 August 2021, the chef de mission was Leon Fleiser. This was the smallest delegation since the 1992 Summer Paralympics. Except for one gold medal in cycling, all the team's medals, four gold, one silver and two bronze, were won in athletics. Three African and three World records were also set in athletics. South Africa did not enter any team sports.
