Sheffield Hallam University Sports Park is a multipurpose sports venue in Sheffield that is owned and run by Sheffield Hallam University.
The venue was opened in 1992 when Sheffield Hallam University officially gained university status. It has since been used by a variety of the university's sports teams including football and rugby league. In 2013 rugby league team Sheffield Eagles joined with SHU to form the Sheffield Hallam Eagles which acts as a reserve team for the Sheffield Eagles. In 2016 Sheffield Eagles became tenants while the Sheffield Olympic Legacy Stadium was being built.
Sheffield Hallam University (SHU) is a public research university in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England. The university is based on two sites; the City Campus is located in the city centre near Sheffield railway station, while the Collegiate Crescent Campus is about two miles away in the Broomhall Estate off Ecclesall Road in south-west Sheffield. A third campus at Brent Cross Town in the London Borough of Barnet is expected to open for the 2025-26 academic year.

The English Institute of Sport is a multi-sport facility in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England. The facility designed by FaulknerBrowns Architects was opened in December 2003 at a cost of £24 million. Its main feature is a 200m indoor track, but it also hosts several other sporting arenas as well as a large gym and extensive sports medicine facilities. It is in the Lower Don Valley between the Sheffield Arena and Don Valley Bowl. It is managed by SIV.
iceSheffield is an ice arena in the Lower Don Valley, Sheffield, England. iceSheffield was completed in May 2003 at a cost of £15 million and is a Centre of Excellence for figure skating, ice dance and hockey, and it is one of only two facilities in the UK that has two Olympic sized ice pads with seating for 1,500 people in pad 1 and 125 in pad 2. Its overall philosophy of use/focus is for the inclusion and activities for all ice sports from community and grass root usage to elite performance. It is now home to most ice hockey teams in Sheffield with the exception being the Sheffield Steelers, who are still based at nearby Sheffield Arena, though the venue has hosted a number of Steelers games in recent seasons.
Sheffield Eagles are a professional rugby league club based in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England. They play home games at the Olympic Legacy Park and compete in the Championship, the second tier of British rugby league.
Mark Aston is the head coach of Sheffield Eagles in the Betfred Championship. He is an English rugby league coach, and former rugby league scrum-half who spent the majority of his playing career with Sheffield Eagles. He also had short spells with Featherstone Rovers and Bramley, and won one cap for Great Britain in 1991. In 1998, he was awarded the Lance Todd Trophy after helping Sheffield win the Challenge Cup final at Wembley Stadium with a 17–8 victory against Wigan Warriors.
The Cultural Industries Quarter is a district in the city centre of Sheffield, England, and one of the eleven Quarters designated in the 1994 City Centre Strategy. It is roughly triangular in shape, and is bound by Howard Street, Sheaf Square and Suffolk Road to the north-east, St Mary's Road to the south and Eyre Street and Arundel Gate to the north-west, with Granville Square in the south-east. The name given reflects the intention to create a cluster of music, film and science-based businesses in the area.
Hunter's Bar is a roundabout and former toll bar on Ecclesall Road in south-west Sheffield, England; the toll bar was active until the late 19th century. The name also attaches to the area surrounding Hunter's Bar roundabout at the intersection of Ecclesall Road, Brocco Bank, Sharrow Vale Road and Junction Road. The toll bar now stands in the middle of the roundabout. The gatekeeper for the toll bar, known as "Hunter's Toll Gate" lived in a house on the corner of Ecclesall Road and Sharrow Vale Road. In 1871, the gatekeeper was Jacob Thompson, who was born in Wirksworth, Derbyshire and had previously been a lead miner there. His wife and two daughters lived with him.
Cross Green is an area in the east of Otley, England, and the location of a multi-use sports stadium. The stadium is currently used mostly for rugby union matches and is the home ground of Otley R.U.F.C. It is on the eastern edge of the town, off Pool Road and is close to the new Asda supermarket. Otley RUFC has its own car park.

Herringthorpe Stadium is an athletics stadium in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, England. The stadium was opened in 1960 and was formerly a part of the Herringthorpe Leisure Complex, along with Herringthorpe Leisure Centre and several all-weather football pitches. The stadium contains a 400m, Olympic-class running track and a grass pitch, as well as facilities for all other Olympic disciplines such as discus nets. In addition, it is surrounded by the massive Playing Fields which provide pitches and training facilities for all manner of local sports and teams. The stadium was the area's premier athletics venues until the English Institute of Sport was opened in nearby Sheffield in 2004. Rotherham Harriers athletics club are based at the stadium, and since 2005, it has been the home ground of Rugby League Conference side Rotherham Giants. It has also hosted Rotherham Titans rugby union games. It also continues to host regular athletics meets and school competitions, as well as catering for a wide variety of other sports and events. The stadium was featured on Jamie Oliver's Jamie's Ministry of Food program as the venue for the final 'Pass It On!' conference.
The Southern Conference League is the fourth tier of the British rugby league system. It is the highest level of amateur rugby league outside of the heartlands in Northern England, thus operates in The Midlands, South England, and Wales. It was one of the many leagues that replaced the Rugby League Conference. The competition was first played between 2012 and 2016, and was relaunched in 2019 after a two-year hiatus.

The 2015 Conference League South saw the competition increase to 10 clubs. The new clubs were Gloucestershire Warriors who were promoted from the West Of England Rugby League as champions, Torfaen Tigers who moved up from the South Wales Conference and two new clubs Raiders RL and Coventry Bears Reserves. Unfortunately on 10 April Bristol Sonics after postponing their first two games, announced that they would have to withdraw from the league due to player problems and drop down to the West Of England Rugby League. The league season ran from March to September. The teams would play each other home and away with the top four contesting the end of season play-offs to decide the champions
The 2013 Conference League South was the first season under the new name. Founded in 2013 as a result of the restructuring of the game below the professional level. The Rugby League Conference which was broken up in 2011 was replaced for one season in 2012 by the National Conference League Division 3 which was placed under the banner of the National Conference League which had moved from winter to summer. Bristol Sonics, St Albans Centurions and Nottingham Outlaws moved across from National Conference League Division 3. The top two from Midlands Rugby League Premier Division, Northampton Demons as champions and Leicester Storm as runners-up moved up and a new club Sheffield Hallam Eagles, a joint venture set up by Sheffield Eagles and Sheffield Hallam University made up the 6 team competition. The teams would play each other three times during the regular season with the top four contesting the play-offs. The season ran from April to August
Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park Community Stadium is a stadium built at the Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park. It occupies part of the site of the former Don Valley Stadium.
