Sheikh Abdul Latif Derian is the Grand Mufti of Lebanon since August 2014. As the spiritual leader of Lebanese Muslims, the Grand Mufti holds the highest religious post for a Sunni Islamic scholar in Lebanon. The honorific his eminence is used in referring to him. [1]

Fehmi Naji El-Imam AM was the Grand Mufti of Australia from June 2007 to September 2011. Born in Lebanon, he arrived in Australia in 1951. He was elected to succeed Taj El-Din Hilaly on 10 June 2007, but by January 2011 Hilaly declared that Naji was no longer active, and that de facto he was functioning as mufti. Naji was succeeded on 18 September 2011 by Ibrahim Abu Mohamed.

The Al ash-Sheikh, also transliterated in a number of other ways, including Al ash-Shaykh, Al ash-Shaikh, Al al-Shaykh or Al-Shaykh is Saudi Arabia's leading religious family. They are the descendants of Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab, the 18th-century founder of the Wahhabi sect of Islam which is today dominant in Saudi Arabia. In Saudi Arabia, the family is second in prestige only to the Saudi royal family, the Al Saud, with whom they formed a power-sharing arrangement nearly 300 years ago. Mala Abdul Karim Mudarris or Maulana Sheikh Abdul Karim Mudarris, also known as Nami, was a Kurdish Faqih, Mufti of Iraq, and Quran interpreter in addition to being a poet, writer, as well as a translator. He was known by the epithet Mudarris because he taught Islamic sciences for more than 80 years. Al-Mudarris left a legacy of approximately 150 publications on a multitude of subjects The majority of this work got published. His book, "Two Scentencses", which was published in 1982, is a dictionary which defines Arabic words in poems in Kurdish. He was the first person to translate the Quran into Kurdish. The Kurdistan governmental region has decided to open a place for his works.

Maulana Abdul Malek Halim is a prominent Islamic scholar of Bangladesh and Nayeb-e Ameer of Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh. Abdul Malek Halim is the pioneer of Qawmi Mohila (Female) Madrasa in Bangladesh and the founder of Al-Jamiatul Arabia Lil Baneena Wal Banaat Haildhar, the first Qawmi Madrasa having female branch.
