The Bangladesh Armed Forces are the combined military forces of the People's Republic of Bangladesh. It consists of the three uniformed military services: the Bangladesh Army, the Bangladesh Navy and the Bangladesh Air Force. The Armed Forces are under the jurisdiction of Ministry of Defence of the Government of Bangladesh, and is directly administered by the Armed Forces Division of the Prime Minister's Office. The President of Bangladesh serves as the Commander-in-Chief of the Bangladesh Armed Forces. It has the third-largest defence budget in South Asia and according to the Global Firepower index it is the third most powerful military force in South Asia. Border Guard Bangladesh and Bangladesh Coast Guard are under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Home Affairs during peacetime, but during wartime they fall under the command of Bangladesh Army and Bangladesh Navy respectively.
The Khulna Division is the second largest of the eight divisions of Bangladesh. It has an area of 22,285 km2 (8,604 sq mi) and a population of 17,416,645 at the 2022 Bangladesh census. Its headquarters and largest city is Khulna city in Khulna District.

Jessore District, officially spelled Jashore District from April 2018, is a district in southwestern Bangladesh. It is bordered by India to the west, Khulna and Satkhira districts to the south, Khulna and Narail to the east, and Jhenaidah and Magura districts to the north. Jessore is the capital of the district. Jessore is the home of the ancestors of the great Bengali poet Rabindranath Tagore.
The Khulna District is a district of Bangladesh. It is located in the Khulna Division, bordered on the north by the Jessore District and the Narail District, on the south by the Bay of Bengal, on the east by the Bagerhat District, and on the west by the Satkhira District. It was the very first sub-division of United Bengal Province established in 1842 under Jessore district. On 1 June 1882, by notification of the official gazette published from Kolkata, Khulna and Bagerhat sub-division of Jessore district and Satkhira sub-division of 24 Pargana district formed the new district of Khulna.
The Khulna Medical College (KMC) is a government medical school in Khulna, Bangladesh. It is affiliated with Sheikh Hasina Medical University. It is located in the city of Khulna, near the inter-district Bus Stand at the entrance to the city.

Textile schools in Bangladesh offer various academic and professional degrees in textile fields. A number of colleges and technical institutes as well as some universities offer diploma, bachelor's and master's degree from their allocated faculties upon completion of certification courses. Textile courses offered in these schools include spinning, weaving, knitting, dyeing, printing, finishing, apparels merchandising and fashion designing. As of 2019, textile material is the largest export item of Bangladesh. Bangladesh exported $42.35 billion worth of readymade garments in the 2018–2019 fiscal year.
The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Jashore is an autonomous organization in Jashore, Bangladesh, mainly responsible for holding two public examinations and for providing recognition to the newly established non-government educational institutions.

It is home to the first flight training school of the Bangladeshi Air Force, established in 1971. It is the administrative centre (headquarter) of the eponymous district and the third largest and second developed city in Khulna Division. It is one of the industrious and developed cities in Bangladesh. Jessore city consists of 9 wards and 73 mahalls. Jashore municipality was established in 1864. The area of the town is 21.15 km2. It has a population of about 298,000 according to the record of Jessore municipality. Jessore also has a domestic airport named as Jessore Airport.

Northern University of Business and Technology Khulna (NUBT) is a private university in Bangladesh. The university is affiliated to the University Grants Commission. It is the first specialized private university established in the south-west of Bangladesh.
The Madhumati Bridge, also called the Kalna Bridge, is a 690-metre-long, 6-lane bridge across the Madhumati River. The bridge connects the districts of Narail, Khulna, Magura, Satkhira, Chuadanga, Jashore, Jhenaidah, Gopalganj and a few others in the southwest and northwest. It is a part of the Asian Highway Project.
