Sherry-Lee Watson is an Australian actor. She is best known for her roles as Missy on the Netflix comedy drama Heartbreak High , and Robyn on Australian comedy Thou Shalt Not Steal .

Watson is an Arrernte woman. [2] [3]

Early life and education

Watson grew up in Alice Springs, Northern Territory. [3] She moved out home at the age of 14 to study and pursue a career in arts and acting. [3] [1]

Watson attended the Victorian College of the Arts, studying a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Music Theatre). [3]

Career

In November 2021, Watson was cast in Netflix comedy drama Heartbreak High as Missy. [4]

In 2024, McDonald starred in Stan original Thou Shalt Not Steal. [5] She appeared alongside Heartbreak High co-star Will McDonald, who she recommended for the role. [6]

Heartbreak High is an Australian comedy drama television series created for Netflix, by Hannah Carroll Chapman. It is a soft reboot of the 1994 series first screened on Network Ten. The series follows the students and teachers of Hartley High as they navigate racial tensions in Australia, high school romances, and all sorts of teen angst. It features an ensemble cast including Ayesha Madon, Thomas Weatherall, Bryn Chapman Parish, Asher Yasbincek, James Majoos, Chloé Hayden, Will McDonald, Gemma Chua-Tran, Sherry-Lee Watson, Josh Heuston, Brodie Townsend, Chika Ikogwe, Scott Major and Rachel House. She then appeared in the comedy-drama film Rams (2020) and had a supporting role in How to Please a Woman (2022). Yasbincek secured her breakthrough role in Heartbreak High while she was working in traffic control. She shaved her head on-screen for the role in one of her first scenes. The series follows a pair of teenagers as they are chased across the desert by a sex worker and fraudulent preacher. It stars Sherry-Lee Watson, Will McDonald, Miranda Otto, Noah Taylor, Darren Gilshenan, Shari Sebbens, Natasha Wanganeen, and Warren H. Williams.

Will McDonald is an Australian actor. He is best known for his roles as Douglas 'Ca$h' Piggott on the Netflix comedy drama Heartbreak High, and Jett James on Australian Soap Opera Home and Away.
