Shilpa Maskey (born April 14, 1992 in Biratnagar, Nepal) is a Nepalese film actress, model and dancer. [1] [2] She made her debut in the Nepali film industry as the lead in the movie "The Break Up," opposite Aashirman DS Joshi. [3] Her second Nepali movie was Kagaz Patra opposite Najir Hussain. [4] She has done many music videos, films, photoshoots, and advertisements both internationally and nationally. [5] She has made minor appearances in Hollywood projects like Doctor Strange and Mission: Impossible – Fallout , and Netflix series The Crown, Season 2, episode 5 and short movie Shooting an Elephant and Bollywood movie Gold . [6] Her third nepali movie was Sano Mann alongside Ayushman Joshi [7] and afterwards, her following film, "Kathaputali," premiered on December 31, 2021. Subsequently, she appeared in "Life in LA," which was released on May 20, 2022 and she starred in the movies "Fulbari" and "Parastree," both of which were released in 2023. [8]

<i>Kabaddi</i> (2014 film) 2014 Nepali film by Ram Babu Gurung

Kabaddi is a 2014 Nepali romantic drama film written and directed by Ram Babu Gurung. It portrays the story of a love triangle among three central characters. The film was produced by Raunak Bikram Kandel, Nischal Basnet and Sunil Rauniyar and starred Nischal Basnet, Dayahang Rai, Rishma Gurung and Rajan Khatiwada. The film was released on April 25, 2014 with extremely positive review from critics and audience for its rawness, screenplay, performances and direction. It became a blockbuster at the box office and remains a cult classic film of Nepali cinema. The film is also considered as a landmark in film in modern Nepali cinema. The film had two sequels, Kabaddi Kabaddi was released in November 2015 which also became huge success critically and commercially. Its third part Kabaddi Kabaddi Kabaddi was released on 20 September 2019 and became the highest grossing film of the franchise and one of the highest grossing films ever in Nepal. Now, Its forth part Kabaddi 4: The Final Match has hit to the theatres on 27 May 2022 and has broken all records of Nepali Cinema till now.

Hostel Returns is a sequel to the 2013 Nepali film Hostel and is based on the hostel life of typical engineering students in Nepal. Directed by Suraj Bhusal and produced by Mr Sunil Rawal, Sunil himself plays the role of Hostel Warden in the movie. The film is an action packed love story which revolves around two protagonists Aakash (Aashirman) and Aarzoo (Anna), it shows how in the corrupted world the youth have a lot of reasons to turn into criminals and when you have someone special you love there will be much more consequences that come with it. The movie did good business but received mixed reviews. One of the film's songs, Ajambari went on to become a huge hit with over 20 million views on YouTube till date.

<i>The Break Up</i> (2019 film) 2019 Nepalese film

The Break Up is a Nepali romantic comedy movie directed by Hem Raj BC. featuring Aashirman DS Joshi and Shilpa Maskey in lead roles. The film was shot in Pokhara and Sydney. The film is a love story which revolves around two protagonists Aavishkar (Aashirman) and Sara (Shilpa) The performance of the lead actors and the cinematography of the movie was highly praised but the film got mixed reviews from the audience. One of the film's songs, "Aaja Hamro Bhet Bhako Dina", was a remake of the old version which was from the film, Jwala, starring Rajesh Hamal where Saroj Khanal had a special appearance in the song. The old version of the song was sung by Udit Narayan, Asha Bhosle, Sadhana Sargam and Kavita Krishnamurthy. The remake version went on to become a huge hit as well sung by Melina Rai and Biraj Gautam.
