Rae Sremmurd ( RAYSHREM-urd; is an American hip hop duo originating from Tupelo, Mississippi, formed by brothers Swae Lee and Slim Jxmmi. They signed a recording contract with record producer Mike WiLL Made-It's label EarDrummers Records, an imprint of Interscope Records and rose to prominence following the release of their 2014 singles "No Flex Zone," "No Type" and "Throw Sum Mo". Each received triple platinum certification by the Recording Industry Association of America, peaked within the top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100, and promoted the release of their debut studio album, SremmLife, which itself received double platinum certification. Their 2016 single, "Black Beatles" peaked the Billboard Hot 100 and preceded the release of their second album SremmLife 2, which saw continued commercial success. During that same year, the duo also formed their own record label, SremmLife Crew Records.
Youtha Anthony Fowler, better known by his stage name DJ Nabs, is an American DJ and record producer. He has been part of the Atlanta hip hop scene since the late 1980s and worked with hip hop artists such as Kris Kross, Da Brat, Bow Wow, Xscape, Speech, and Trick Daddy, hosted several radio shows, and toured with Mariah Carey, Ciara and Michael Jackson. He published his compilation album In the Lab with DJ Nabs - The Live Album in 1998. Nabs founded the MAD DJ Academy, and hosted and co-created Ultimate Mad DJ Contest, an event showcasing emerging DJs.
