Richard Papillon (born 27 May 1992), better known by his gaming handle shox, is a French professional Counter-Strike: Global Offensive player for Team Vitality. He is considered one of the best players in Global Offensive history, featuring in HLTV's Top 20 Players list from 2013-2016. Early life

Shox began playing Counter-Strike when he was nine years old, introduced to the series by his older brother. [1] His parents allowed him to take a year off from studies to pursue the game, leading to him joining his first successful teams in Counter-Strike: Source around 2007. [8] His handle referenced a model of Nike shoes that were popular at the time. [1]

Shox is best known for playing for a number of French Counter-Strike teams, including VeryGames, Titan, Team LDLC, EnVyUs, and G2. [4]

He has previously played for H2k, Absolute Legends, LGB eSports and Fnatic. Olofmeister is widely regarded as one of the best CS:GO players in the world. He has won two CSGO Majors, ESL One Katowice 2015 and ESL One Cologne 2015, as well as many other tournaments.

Filip Kubski better known as NEO, is a Polish player of the Counter-Strike series who is currently a free agent. NEO is considered to be one of the best players in Counter-Strike history. He was also one of the "Golden Five" group of Polish CS players. Most recently he was the in-game leader for FaZe Clan. He has played for Virtus.pro, AGAiN, Universal Soldiers, ESC Gaming, Frag eXecutors, Vitriolic, Wicked eSports, Meet Your Makers, and Pentagram G-Shock. Kenny Schrub, better known by his alias kennyS, is a French professional Counter-Strike: Global Offensive player currently playing for G2 Esports. The Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Major Championships, commonly known as Majors, are Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) esports tournaments sponsored by Valve, the game's developer. The Majors were first introduced in 2013 and took place in Jönköping, Sweden and was hosted by DreamHack with a total prize pool of US$250,000. Six teams were directly invited, six teams were invited based on previous tournament results, and another four teams came from direct qualifiers.

<i>Counter-Strike</i> in esports

Professional Counter-Strike competition involves professional gamers competing in the first person shooter game series, Counter-Strike. The original game, released in 1999, is a mod developed by Minh "Gooseman" Le and Jess Cliffe of the 1998 video game Half-Life, published by Valve. Currently, the games that have been played competitively include Counter-Strike, Counter-Strike: Condition Zero (CS:CZ), Counter-Strike: Source (CS:S) and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO). Major tournaments began in 2001 with the first major at the Cyberathlete Professional League Winter Championship won by Ninjas in Pyjamas.
