It is set after the events of War and Pathaan. The film explores the origins of a mutual connection between Tiger and Zoya and also follows Tiger and Zoya's attempts to fight off Zoya's former mentor, Aatish Rehman, a rogue ISI agent, who uses them to stage a coup against the Government of Pakistan in pursuit of a destructive agenda against India.
Pathaan is a 2023 Indian Hindi-language action thriller film co-written and directed by Siddharth Anand and produced by Aditya Chopra under Yash Raj Films. The fourth instalment in the YRF Spy Universe, it stars Shah Rukh Khan in the title role, alongside Deepika Padukone and John Abraham, and Dimple Kapadia and Ashutosh Rana in supporting roles. The first instalment in the universe to observe a crossover, it follows an exiled RAW agent, who works with ISI agent Rubina Mohsin to take down Jim, a former RAW agent, who plans to attack India with a deadly lab-generated virus.

He is portrayed by Salman Khan. The character first appeared in Ek Tha Tiger (2012) and appeared in its sequels Tiger Zinda Hai (2017) and Tiger 3 (2023). Tiger also made a brief appearance in Pathaan (2023), another film in the universe.
Pathaan is a fictional Research and Analysis Wing (R&AW) agent and former soldier created by Siddharth Anand and Aditya Chopra for the YRF Spy Universe. The character is portrayed by Shah Rukh Khan and was first introduced in Pathaan (2023).
