Sidharth Mishra (born 29 September 1967) is a print media reporter, journalist, author and professor in practice. He served as an associate editor in The Pioneer . He writes columns in dailies including The New Indian Express , The Tribune , News18 website and others.. [1] [2] [3]
He is the chairperson of the Research and Journalism School of Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies-TC. [4] [5]
He is a Rimcollian. He edited the different publications of the ROBA. [6] His book tilted ‘Valour & Wisdom’ attempts to establish the praxis that RIMC has shaped the nation’s military leadership. This book carries an archival value in the history of RIMC. [7]
He published 'Capital Phenomenon: A Political History of Delhi, 1998-2009' [8] which tells the political history of Delhi after the independence of India. He edited book titled - 'Delhi Political 1947-2013' which complied the events important in Delhi political history. [2]
He studied in Rashtriya Indian Military College, Dehradun. [7] [9] He joined Kirori Mal College, Delhi University for higher education. After completing his English master's degree at DU, he began working as a journalist in 1992. He had a MA in public administration. [10] [11]
Mishra started his career as a reporter in 1992. Later, he joined The Pioneer as a journalist and got trained under the senior editor Chandan Mitra. [12] [2] [13]
He has been a legislative and parliamentary correspondent since 1996, covering all the general election after that. [3] [2]
He regularly writes columns on political and urban issues in dailies like, The New Indian Express, [14] The Pioneer, The Millennium Post, [15] The News18 [3] and The First Post [16]
His political reporting essay appears in the Oxford University Press book "Making News - A Handbook on Indian Media." He edited a book on colonialism titled Company to Crown, which is an anthology of essays on colonialism.
In 2010, he authored Capital Phenomenon: A Political History of Delhi, 1998-2009, which tells the political landscape of Delhi as a state. [17]
In 2019, he edited a book on the similar theme of Delhi Political scenario titled, 'Delhi Political 1947-2013'. [18]
His chapter on "Women Moving Mountains: a Eulogy for Contemporary Indian Women Activists" gets published in book Gender and Popular Culture, published by Cambridge Scholar Publishing. It is a paper based on "Mishra's more than a quarter-of-a-century-long experience as a newspaper reporter, allowing him to see Indian society evolve from very close quarters. The paper explores the evolution of Indian society especially in relation to the role of women". [18]
As an alumnus of RIMC, he co-edited a book with Retired Air Marshal PP Reddy, tilted 'Valour & Wisdom: 100 Years of Unparalleled Leadership' which has been came out on 14 March 2022. This historical compendium informs readers about actual and exciting aspects of history based on a variety of facts, figures, and numbers that are typically unknown to readers. The book is fittingly authored by 26 Rimcollians and edited by Air Marshal PP Reddy & Mishra. [6] He also use to edit the magazine of RIMC Old Boys Association. [19]
He has served three terms as chair of the governing bodies of Shaheed Bhagat Singh College, [20] [21] Shivaji College, [22] and Maharaja Agrasen College (Delhi University). [23] [24] [25] Also, he has been elected as the member to the Delhi University Court. [26]
He is serving as a chairperson of Research School and Journalism School of VIPS-TC. [5] [18]

The Rashtriya Indian Military College is a military school for boys situated in Doon Valley, Dehradun in India. Lalit Narayan Mishra was an Indian politician who served as Minister of Railways in the government of India from 1973 to 1975. He was brought into politics by the first Chief Minister of Bihar, Sri Krishna Sinha, when he was made parliamentary secretary at his insistence to the First Prime Minister of India, Jawaharlal Nehru. In 1975, he died in a bomb blast at Samastipur railway station. The court case against the perpetrators was delayed for years and was finally completed in December 2014.
Girilal Jain was an Indian journalist. He served as the editor of The Times of India from 1978 until 1988. He advocated establishing old glory and re establishing the great tenets of Hinduism aligned with nationalism and authored books on the subject, the best known of which, The Hindu Phenomenon, was published posthumously. He had been awarded the 1996 Indira Gandhi Paryavaran Puraskar (IGPP) award instituted by the Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India. He travelled to villages across several Indian states, especially Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Uttar Pradesh, describing the value of time-tested systems of water harvesting.
