Sierra Marie Swan (born April 5, 1978) is an American singer-songwriter. She is known for her work with Dollshead, Black Eyed Peas and as a solo artist.
Swan is the daughter of 1970s country and pop musician Billy Swan, who played rhythm guitar for Kris Kristofferson. [1]
When she was sixteen Swan began playing at coffeehouses in Los Angeles. At eighteen she got a residency in Hollywood at Goldfinger's. [1]
In 1997, Swan got together with Graham Edwards and Dollshead was formed. The band was signed and eventually dropped from MCA. [2] After Dollshead, Swan was a member of the Black Eyed Peas during 1998–2000, featuring on the song "Fallin' Up".
After leaving the Black Eyed Peas she went solo. Swan was discovered by Anne Previn and Scott Cutler of Ednaswap. She wrote several songs with Previn and Cutler. In 2001, she was signed to Atlantic Records. [2]
She has released various albums and EPs since 2006. She completed the Queen Of The Valley LP, which was originally titled Queen of the Valley Girls. However, she was dropped from her label which delayed release until 2008. [3] The LP featured such producers as Chad Hugo of the Neptunes and Linda Perry (formerly of the musical group 4 Non Blondes). [3]
Linda Perry worked with Swan on her next (and officially, her first) album, Ladyland in 2006. [4] The album included a duet with singer-songwriter Aimee Mann, titled "Get Down to It" and features additional production work by Bill Bottrell.
Swan released an EP entitled Coward, available on iTunes only, in 2007. She has also released promotional songs online.
Swan has also toured and collaborated with Dave Stewart, Ringo Starr, and Frank Black.
In 2014 she released Good Soldier on February 25 which was produced by Billy Corgan of the Smashing Pumpkins. She sang and played various instruments with the Smashing Pumpkins on their 2016 in Plainsong tour. [5]
In 2018 Swan collaborated once again with Chad Hugo for a five-track EP titled Caterwaul. [6]

The Smashing Pumpkins are an American alternative rock band from Chicago, Illinois. Formed in 1988 by frontman and guitarist Billy Corgan, bassist D'arcy Wretzky, guitarist James Iha, and drummer Jimmy Chamberlin, the band has undergone several line-up changes since their reunion in 2006, with Corgan being the sole constant member since its inception. The current lineup features Corgan, Chamberlin, and Iha.
James Joseph Chamberlin is an American drummer and record producer. Described as "one of the most powerful drummers in rock," he is best known as the drummer for the alternative rock band the Smashing Pumpkins. Following the 2000 breakup of the band, Chamberlin joined Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan in the supergroup Zwan and also formed his own group, the Jimmy Chamberlin Complex, of which he is still currently active. In late 2005, Chamberlin joined Corgan in reforming Smashing Pumpkins; he eventually left the group in March 2009, though he returned again in 2015 for a summer tour, and has officially performed with the band since then. Following guitarist Jeff Schroeder's departure in October 2023, Chamberlin is the band's second-longest serving member. He also performed in the group Skysaw until 2012 and joined Chicago jazz saxophonist Frank Catalano for a string of 2013–15 performances in the Chicago area. An EP by Catalano and Chamberlin Love Supreme Collective was released on July 29, 2014.
William Patrick Corgan Jr. is an American musician, singer, songwriter, and professional wrestling promoter. He is best known as the co-founder, lead singer, primary songwriter, guitarist, and only constant member of alternative rock band The Smashing Pumpkins. Corgan himself is credited with helping popularize the genre. He has also been the owner and promoter of the National Wrestling Alliance since 2017.
James Yoshinobu Iha is an American rock musician. He is best known as the secondary guitarist and co-founder of the alternative rock band the Smashing Pumpkins. He was a member until the band's initial breakup in 2000 and rejoined in 2018.

The song, though seemingly upbeat, contains dark lyrics; Corgan wrote the song about a day in which he was having suicidal thoughts. The contrast between the grim subject matter of the song and the soft instrumental part during the verses, coupled with use of irony in the lyrics, left many listeners unaware of the song's tale of depression and desperation. The US Patent Office's website listed the label as being trademarked by Corgan. When word of the label was made public, a domain name was registered but no website ever appeared. After one year the URL had expired.
"Eye" is a song by American alternative rock band The Smashing Pumpkins, released in 1997 on the soundtrack to the David Lynch film Lost Highway. Along with the song "The End Is the Beginning Is the End" from Batman & Robin and "Christmastime" from A Very Special Christmas 3, "Eye" represented a period of work on compilations done by the Pumpkins in between the release of the two albums Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness and Adore. It also appeared on their greatest hits collection Rotten Apples.
American Gothic is the fourth EP by The Smashing Pumpkins. The EP was announced on the band's website on December 19, 2007 with songwriter Billy Corgan describing it as a continuation of their 2007 album Zeitgeist. It was released digitally on January 2, 2008 and as a CD in the United Kingdom on February 11, 2008.
Teargarden by Kaleidyscope is a music project by alternative rock band The Smashing Pumpkins that was started in late 2009 by frontman Billy Corgan following the second departure of original drummer Jimmy Chamberlin. The project initially was conceived as a 44-song concept album loosely inspired by the Tarot, with each song being released individually as a free download. By August 2018, after 34 tracks had been released, Corgan announced via Instagram that the project had been abandoned.
Nicole Margaret Fiorentino is an American bass guitarist. She is best known for her work with alternative rock bands Veruca Salt and The Smashing Pumpkins. In both bands, she played as a touring member before contributing to albums. She replaced Eva Gardner of Veruca Salt before recording 2006's V. For the band's final album Ghost Notes in 2015, Fiorentino was replaced by returning founding member Steve Lack, but reappeared on Louise Post's debut solo album Sleepwalker and corresponding tour in 2023. With the Smashing Pumpkins, Fiorentino, she became an official member in 2010. She performs on the band's third Teargarden by Kaleidyscope EP (2011) and subsequent album Oceania (2012). Fiorentino departed the band in 2014.
Oceania is the eighth studio album by American alternative rock band the Smashing Pumpkins, released on June 19, 2012 through Martha's Music. The album was produced by Billy Corgan and Bjorn Thorsrud, and forms part of the band's 34-track music project Teargarden by Kaleidyscope. It was their first studio album to feature guitarist Jeff Schroeder, and their only album to contain contributions from bassist Nicole Fiorentino and drummer Mike Byrne, who replaced original drummer Jimmy Chamberlin.
Ogilala is the second solo album by American musician Billy Corgan, frontman of alternative rock band The Smashing Pumpkins. The album was released on October 13, 2017, in the United States. It marks Corgan's first solo album since his 2005 debut, TheFutureEmbrace. The album was co-produced by Corgan with Rick Rubin, and does not feature Corgan's longtime collaborator Bjorn Thorsrud. Atum: A Rock Opera in Three Acts is the twelfth studio album by American rock band the Smashing Pumpkins. The album was released in three separate installments of 11 songs—Atum: Act One was released on November 15, 2022, Atum: Act Two was released on January 31, 2023, and Atum: Act Three was released on May 5, 2023. A physical box set consisting of all 33 songs, along with a group of 10 additional exclusive songs, was released in early May 2023. This is the band's final studio album to feature guitarist Jeff Schroeder, before his departure in October 2023.
