Silver Rider Transit is a public transportation operator in Clark County, Nevada, United States. Silver Rider Transit operates in the rural portion of Clark county, with focus cities of Laughlin and Mesquite. [3] [4]

History

Silver Rider Transit was incorporated in 2002, as a part of Nevada's DOT public rural ride program under the name Southern Nevada Transit Coalition. [5] [6]

In 2008, Silver Rider Assumed transit operation for Boulder City. [7] [2]

In 2010, Silver Rider Transit opened Harry Reid Transportation Center in Laughlin, honoring Senator Harry Reid, since Reid helped secure 3.5 million in funding for the transportation center. The previous transportation center was located with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department substation-jail. [8]

In February 2022, Silver Rider Transit acquired hybrid electric buses for its Laughlin bus routes under a Federal grant facilitated by Nevada DOT. [9]

Boulder City Transit

Silver Rider offers a daily Dial a Ride Service in Boulder City, that is open to all. Reservation in Boulder City isn't required. [10]

Indian Springs Express Route

In Indian Springs, Silver Rider operates a weekly Dial a Ride service, open to all, that takes residents from Indian Springs to user indicated drop off location in Las Vegas. Dial a Ride in Indian Springs requires 24 hour advance reservation [11]

Laughlin Transit

In Laughlin, Silver rider offers Senior Dial a Ride services over the age of 60, to medical destinations in Bullhead City, AZ. [12]

Social Security Express

Social Security Express is a Dial a Ride service that operates once a month. It is available to take Laughlin residents to the Needles Social Security office. Appointment to the Needles Social Security office is required. [13]

For statistical purposes, the United States Census Bureau has defined Laughlin as a census-designated place (CDP). It is located on the Colorado River, downstream from the Davis Dam and Lake Mohave, and directly across from the much larger Bullhead City, Arizona. The nearby communities of Bullhead City, Arizona; Needles, California; Fort Mohave, Arizona; and Mohave Valley, Arizona, bring the area's total population to about 100,000. Laughlin is also 286 miles (460 km) northeast of Los Angeles.

Twin Cities Area Transportation Authority (TCATA) is an urban/rural transit provider that provides fixed-route and dial-a-ride bus transit service throughout the Benton Harbor, Michigan-Saint Joseph, Michigan area. Transportation in the Las Vegas Valley including the cities of Las Vegas, North Las Vegas and Henderson is a multi-faceted system. The street system is mostly laid out in a north–south/east–west system of roads. While most residents rely on cars, there is a network of bus routes reaching some areas of the county. The Las Vegas Valley, being the one of the largest tourist destinations in the world, has a mass transportation system which favors the Las Vegas Strip.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">North Central Regional Transit District</span>

The North Central Regional Transit District operates a network of several local and intercity bus routes in northern New Mexico, serving Santa Fe, Española, Taos, and many smaller communities along a network of 25 fixed routes and one demand-response route, one dial-a-ride and complementary Paratransit service in the Taos area. Routes operate Monday through Friday only, with the exceptions of the "Taos Express," which operates only on weekends, the Mountain Trail route to the Santa Fe National Forest and Ski Santa Fe, which operates daily, and seasonal daily service from the Town of Taos to Taos Ski Valley. All routes are fare-free, with the exception of the Taos Express and Mountain Trail route which are premium fare-based routes. The service is supported primarily by transit gross receipt taxes, which provides approximately 70% of the RTD's revenues. In 2022, the system had a ridership of 109,500, or about 300 per weekday as of the third quarter of 2023.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Porterville Transit</span> Bus agency in California, United States

Porterville Transit (PT) was the primary bus agency serving residents and visitors to Porterville, the second-largest city in Tulare County, California. It was operated by the city and offered both fixed routes and dial-a-ride local service within Porterville, with all fixed routes operating out of a central transit center. Buses connecting Porterville's transit hub to nearby census-designated places were handled by Tulare County Area Transit (TCaT), including services to Tulare and Visalia, Springville, Terra Bella (80), and Poplar and Woodville (90).
