He was a pioneer of Indian theatre and the founding member of Indian People's Theatre Association (IPTA). His son Raj Kapoor was the most influential actor and director in Hindi cinema. The genesis generation or the earliest linear generation of the Kapoor family tree to ever act in the films was Prithviraj Kapoor's father, Basheshwarnath Kapoor, who debuted as actor in 1951 film Awaara, which was produced, directed and starred in lead role by his grandson Raj Kapoor.

"Chammak Challo" is a song performed by Akon and Hamsika Iyer, and composed by Akon, Giorgio Tuinfort as well as music director duo Vishal-Shekhar and by Gobind Singh, as a part of the soundtrack for the 2011 Bollywood film Ra.One. It is Akon's first musical collaboration with Indian artists. There are four other versions of the song in the album, including a remix by Abhijit Vaghani, another remix by DJ Khushi and an international version sung solely by Akon. The song, along with the rest of the soundtrack, was officially released on 12 September 2011. However, the song faced controversy when the rough version was leaked on the Internet on 31 May 2011.

Veere Di Wedding is a 2018 Indian Hindi-language buddy comedy film directed by Shashanka Ghosh and produced by Rhea Kapoor, Ekta Kapoor and Nikhil Dwivedi. Loosely based on the 2015 film The Wedding Ringer, the film stars Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonam Kapoor Ahuja, Swara Bhaskar and Shikha Talsania in lead roles as four friends attending a wedding, with Neena Gupta in a supporting role.
Good Newwz is a 2019 Indian comedy-drama film directed by Raj Mehta in his directorial debut and produced by Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Hiroo Yash Johar, Shashank Khaitan and Aruna Bhatia under their respective banners Dharma Productions and Cape of Good Films. Starring Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Diljit Dosanjh and Kiara Advani in the lead roles, the film revolves around two couples trust with in vitro fertilisation. The shooting commenced in November 2018 and was completed in April 2019. It was theatrically released in India on 27 December 2019.

The film is produced by Aamir Khan Productions, Viacom18 Studios and Paramount Pictures. An adaptation of the 1994 American film Forrest Gump which itself based on Winston Groom's 1986 novel of the same name, the film stars Aamir Khan as the titular character along with Kareena Kapoor and Naga Chaitanya.
